Chapter Eleven

We bust into the marble lobby area thing just as the freak from round the back fired into the air, shouting, 'Everyone on the floor! Now!'

'I think we may be officially screwed.' I muttered, holding my hands above my head and following the other twenty or so people being herded into the middle. We were closed in by long strips of marble desks, behind which all the servers sat.

'You!' He shouted, pointing the gun at us, or really, Jensen. 'I know you! Get in the very middle!'

'I swear you two had a thing.' I muttered, following Jensen along. The other stand-by-ers sat with thier backs pressed to the marble walls, breathing hard, fearfully.

There was some 20-odd freak waving a gun around crazily, and I could tell he was just as scared as the other people hanging around.

'Who is this guy?' Grace whispered as the dude snapped, 'On you knees with your hands over your head! What're you doing here?'

'His name is Liam.' Jensen breathed as we kneeled in front of Liam, hands behind our heads. 'I'm here, uh...'

'On buisiness!' I snapped. Much quieter, I said to the others, 'We don't have to explain ourselves to this guy!'

'You're not on buisness.' Liam laughed, slightly hysterical. 'You're a vamp-'

'Hey!' I yelled. 'Why does he have to explain himself to you? Why are you here?'

I might not be the smartest person, especially yelling at a guy who held a rifle and obviously had no proper experience at weilding firearms.

'I know there's a thing in here!' He hissed to us.

'What's he on about?' Grace muttered.

'Quiet!'

'Take a pill!' I snapped.

Liam looked around frantically, thinking hard. He was trying to put the bank down on lockdown for SOME reason...and he hadn't even sealed off the exits yet!

'You!' He pointed the rifle's snout in some man's direction. 'Frisk 'em and put whatever you can find in the chute.'

The guy stumbled over and frisked Jensen and Grace whilst I studied Liam's face.

He was frenzied and scared, but knew something we didn't.

As the man finished on me, he pulled up my trouser leg slightly, revealing the silver dagger half-concealed in my sock.

'I-I found something.' The man stuttered, slipping the dagger in the chute while I cried, 'N-no! No, I-no! Aw...'

Jensen sighed and rolled his eyes as Grace said, 'I thought we agreed, no weaponry!'

'I'm not coming in here naked!' I snapped.

'Do you think you're smart?' Liam spat, brandishing the gun around wildly, madly, whilst his hand shook.

'I think I'm adorable.' I smiled big, but it fell as he stepped closer, pointing the rifle to my forehead.

'Hey.' Jensen hissed, leaning forward slightly so no-one else heard him but us. 'Don't shoot her, I know what you want.'

'N-no you don't! You told me I was wrong!' He looked close to tears.

'Yes, I do. And before I was wrong, and I apologise for that.'

What the Hell were they on about?

'Look...it's the bank manager.' Jensen's blue eyes flickered to the bank manager, huddled fearfully like the others.

'R-really?'

'Yeah!' Grace and I hissed.

'Uh...everyone up!' Liam stepped back like he had been electocuted and started waving the gun around again. 'Everyone in the vault.'

He started herding them off, looked over his shoulder and said, 'Come with me.'

Groaning, I stood and rubbed my kneecaps. 'I'm starting to get over having a gun pointed at my head.'

'Aren't you immortal?' Jensen asked as we walked off, and Grace and I snickered.

'No.' Grace laughed. 'Silly ignorant leech.'

'Bite me, dog.'

She growled menacingly as I said, 'No, I'm not. I age, I die, the end.'

'You seemed quite content when Liam had his gun to your head.' Jensen said as we walked up a flight of stairs.

I pulled my jacket off and said, 'I did say I was starting to get over it.'

We stood on the edges as Liam made sure everyone went inside the vault, and Grace went over to help him close it.

'You in too.' Liam said, cocking the gun.

'What?' Grace cried.

'In the vault.' He pushed her forward slightly.

'How come they don't have to?' She complained, walking in.

'I know him and I don't trust her.' He shut the vault as I sighed, 'How many times have I heard THAT before?'

***

'What does he think is going on?' I whisper/hissed to Jensen as Liam went around shutting all the blinds.

'Heaven forbid the cops come now.' I added.

'He worked it out.' Jensen rubbed his face tiredly.

'What, that there was a ShapeShifter?'

'Yeah...and everything else.' He admitted.

'What?' My voice cracked by how high with anger it was. 'How?'

'I didn't tell him, he...stumbled across it?' Jensen tried.

I took a deep breath to try and steady myself- it didn't work. 'Does he know about me?' I asked through clenched teeth.

There was a REASON mortals didn't know about this life. The less they knew, the safer they were.

Ignorance is bliss.

'Doubt it. Most Supernaturals don't know about the Rogue Demon Hunter until they've got a bounty on their ass.' Jensen shrugged as Liam started heading back.

'Uh...' Liam said. 'I think we may have a problem.'

'Aside from the original? Great!' I cried, close to having a breakdown.

'Come look.' He lead us over, and I moved the blinds out of the way to see the squad cars start piling up.

'What the Hell?' I snapped. 'Why are they here so fast? Why are they here at all?'

'Maybe someone called?' Liam tried.

I pinched the bridge of my nose. 'Good Lord in heaven, I swear soon I'm gonna kill you, Jensen.'

'Why me?' He cried.

'Because!' I yelled. 'OK, so, first things first. That ShapeShifter.'

'Is it really the manager?' Liam asked.

'No, it's me.' I said sarcastically. 'I'm like the Satanic sheep that comes in the night to eat your eyes.'

Liam raised the gun. 'I knew you were weird!' He cried.

I bit my tongue to stop myself from swearing a blue streak as Jensen said, 'She was joking.

'Oh.' He lowered the gun. 'So...' He laughed nervously. 'What do we do about the ShapeShifter?'

'Well, YOU got rid of my dagger. So we need to find some silver.' I said. 'And it wouldn't hurt to pull out Grace. She doesn't, uh...do well in small spaces. Then we can get me some more silver and kill the son of a bitch.'

'Sounds like a plan.' Jensen said and headed off.

'You're sound like you've done this before.' Liam said as we folllowed.

I sighed. 'You have no idea.'
