Chapter Fifteen
'I really hate freaks like you.' I said, running after the Shifter through the obstacle course/maze these mortals called a bank.
'Do you know how many millions hate Rogue Demon Hunters like you?' The Shifter, having assumed the 'guise of a pretty hot guy (not that I was looking, I just happened to notice) said, jumping out from a room and throwing me into the wall.
If I had been 100% human and breakable, it would've knocked some teeth loose and broken my collarbone.
I stood, raising the envelope opener like a wanna-be potential weapon and we circled each other like tigers.
I laughed scornfully. 'Yeah so? Do you guys think I WANT a job like this? To have to deal with freaks against nature like you?'
He shot forward suddenly, trying to knock the envelope opener out of my hands with no such luck, pinning me to the wall.
'And what, you think that it's easy, that I ENJOY it even, to be the joke of the Supernatural world?' He moved his face close to mine, green eyes flashing, and my heart quickened.
'That I like being born hated and ugly?'
I batted my eyelashes innocently and smiled sweetly, and the snarl slipped off the Shifter's face if only for a second.
'Sucks to be you.' I smirked. 'Not my problem.'
Roaring, the Shifter brought back a hand to knock me out and I stepped in, trying to get the silver to his throat.
He blocked me and I stepped back, against the wall again, trying to rip his arm out of place but instead pulling the majority of skin off his arm in one long goey strip.
'Ew...' I said, watching in sick fascination. The Shifter kicked me in the throat and I smashed into the wall harder, causing it to crack and flake.
Laughing, he leaned over me to gloat.
Bastard.
'With all the hype going around about you, I honestly expected more.'
'Sorry to dissapoint.' I choked out, scarcely breathing and unable to swallow.
'And now you're gonna die in-'
He cut off, a strangled, choking sound escaping his lips.
I looked up to see the silver slide out of his throat, having been stabbed through the other side.
