Lafayette's POV

We all introduced ourselves, yet I paid no attention to the others. I kept looking up to Mr. Washington. He looked laid back, yet intimidating at the same time. My thoughts were cut off when the teacher cleared his throat.

"For the rest of the period, you can ask questions about me, as long as they are appropriate." Hercules raised his hand immediately. Mr. Washington mumbled something, yet nodded to him. "Do you speak any foreign languages?" he asked. "Yes, I speak a bit of French, but I mostly speak English and I love it. Hence why I teach English," he replied, looking to me.

I blushed, telling Hercules to sit down. He gladly did, looking to me and winking. More students said questions, such as, "Where are you from?", "Are you against homophobia," and "Are you married?" I listened to the answers carefully. "I'm from Virginia, I am against any act of homophobia, and I was married, but I have my eyes on someone else," he said, smiling. Laf wondered who he had his eye on. He knew it wouldn't be him since he was only a student, yet he hoped it was him. I shouldn't think this!!

Suddenly, the bell rung, and as he got up, he heard a voice from the front of the class. "Lafayette, could you please stay after the bell," he said, not looking up to meet his eyes. Hercules shrugged to Gilbert, but he gave him a knowing look, as he left. What could his teacher want?
