Wardy’s POV

On Wednesday morning, I had to go to a class at the university. I didn’t get back until lunch, and by that time, I was so exhausted. I’d hardly slept last night, I was so nervous about the engagement party because if I didn’t do everything right, they’d stare, and everybody would take photos, most of which would probably have me blinking, or looking odd.

“Hey beautiful.” Niall greeted me at the door. “How was it?”

“Exhausting. It really tests your mental capabilities.” I explained, dumping my books on the bench, completely unaware of Louis and Stef sitting behind me at the table. I hugged Niall before kissing him lightly.

“Aww, you two are so cute.” Stef exclaimed.

I blushed like crazy before actually turning around. “Oh. Hi.”

“Hey.” They both said casually. That made me laugh. They were perfect for each other. Just, simply perfect.

“Are we supposed to be picking up Cass and Zayn form the airport?” Louis asked after a moment’s hesitation.

“I don’t think so, she would have otherwise called beforehand for us to do that. I think that they’re getting a taxi to their hotel.” I explained.

“They’re staying in a hotel?” Stef asked, pleasantly surprised. I nodded. “Well, I suppose, Sarah’s place is a little cramped. Even when both her and Josh are staying there. Following along with that, when’s he supposed to fly in?” This question was more directed to Louis.

He shrugged. “His flight has been delayed several times, or so he told me, he was supposed to be over here two weeks ago, but we had recording issues and then he had to further delay his flight for some other reason. I can only hope that he’s here for the engagement party.”

“He’ll be here.” Niall sounded so sure when he said this, as he leant against the bench with his arms folded. “Sarah will make sure of it. They keep each other in line. He’ll be here.” He stated.

“So we’re not picking up Cass and Zayn? What about Josh? Will Sarah be picking him up?” I asked.

“We’re not getting Cass and Zayn, I don’t know about Josh, but I’m pretty sure Sarah will get him.” Stef explained.

“I just can’t believe we’re getting engaged in three days.” I said kind of breathlessly.

“We’re already engaged.” Niall stated, taking my hand and fiddling with the ring. This made me smile. “We’re just... making it official.”

Cassie’s POV

“What do they mean that our flight is delayed?” I stammered. We’d just waited two hours at the airport and on the loud speaker, it announced that our flight was going to be half an hour late. So far I’d drank three cups of tea and was currently on my fourth.

I sighed, pulling out my phone for the millionth time. Five missed calls from the agency. I called them back, not really in the mood to be dealing with whatever it is that they had to say. Stupid thing was, it went to voicemail. As long as I wasn’t being fired, I was ok with that.

“Can I have some?” Zayn asked, leaning over into my seat eyeing off the tea. I shrugged and handed him the styrofoam cup.

“Hey.” I said so suddenly, that Zayn nearly spat out the tea that he was currently drinking.

“What was that fo-”

“Look. Isn’t that Josh?” I asked, looking from Zayn to the person resembling Josh.

“I don’t know. Yell out his name and if he turns around, then guess what? It’ll be him.” Zayn suggested in a very childish voice, as if I was five.

I sighed, knowing that this could be - would be, very embarrassing. “Josh!” I yelled. The guy turned around, his eyes looking at every face in the terminal, until his eyes met mine and Zayn’s.

“Hey,” He called back. He made his way over to where we were sitting. “I thought that you’d be catching an earlier flight.” He commented.

“Same to you.” I replied, before Zayn could interject.

He shrugged. “There were some complications.”

“Such as?” I asked, suddenly curious to see if he was purposely putting off the flight.

“Don’t be rude.” Zayn said. He then directed his attention toward Josh. “Take a seat.”

“What did you get them for their engagement?” I questioned.

“Umm...” He looked at me wide-eyed.

“I’m sure that Sarah will have something planned.” I reassured. “She always does.”

He looked like he was going to say something else, but didn’t. I would have asked what he was going to say, but I knew Zayn would shush me again, so I kept my mouth shut. But I would ask him later.
