Chapter 18.
Cassie’s POV
“So apparently he’s flying in from LA this morning then driving down with Josh this afternoon.” Louis explained to us all over breakfast. Harry hasn’t been back to England in approximately three months, which - in my mind - is a fairly long time.
“Talk about jet lag.” Sarah commented snidely as she scooped up a spoonful of cornflakes. Stef walked out then, with bed hair and baggy pyjamas. “Morning you blushing bride.” As if on queue, Stef went bright red.
“If I’d known that everybody else was going to be up, I would have made myself look the tiniest bit more reasonable.” She groaned and poured herself a bowl of cornflakes.
“Don’t listen to them beautiful. You look amazing.” Louis engulfed her in a hug to which she frowned and crossed her arms.
“No, I don’t. Tomorrow I’ll look amazing and that is that.” She grumbled, taking the bowl into the living room, setting it on the table before flopping onto the couch. “I’m getting married.” She cried with tears rolling down her face to which she proceeded to get up and run around the room flailing her arms. “I’m getting married!”
By this stage, Sarah, Liam and I were the only ones still watching this ordeal in motion. Wardy was the one to tap me on the shoulder, get my attention and tell me not to worry and that this had been happened lots recently. Just as I was about to ask how often this would happen, Sarah was on the other side of the room in front of Stef, hand coming off the side of her face. A shrill shriek was sounded before the whole room was in silence. “What was that for?” Stef screeched.
“It was in the heat of the moment, I didn’t know what else to do.” Sarah rushed, unable to keep the smile off her face.
“So why’d you hit me?” Stef practically screamed. Sarah shrugged. “You are unbelievable sometimes.” Stef added.
“Excuse me. You’re the one crying over your wedding.” Sarah revoked.
“It’s not like you wouldn’t.” Stef argued.
Silence fell on the pair as Sarah was at a loss for words. Of course she would cry on and about her wedding, heck even I probably would (about my own that is).
“Remind me to slap you on your wedding day.” Stef remarked.
“I will as soon as I find a-” Sarah shut up almost immediately. All eyes were on her and she just stood (what seemed to be) proudly with her hands on her hips.
I had the urge to gasp, but then realising the havoc that I could start, I stayed quiet and tried to act as stunned as the others. Which was kind of difficult, because it’s harder to lie when you know the truth.
“What were you going to say?” Stef asked cautiously, a red hand print now starting to show up on her face.
“I... I... I was going to say when I save a date and am proposed to.” She summarised slowly.
Stef nodded, not completely sure of what else to say. Finally Wardy broke the silence. “I guess we’ll just have to start pestering Josh a bit more then.” She joked. Everybody broke into nervous laughter and resettled into breakfast mode. Sarah eyed me off cautiously, the kind of death stare that said ‘If you tell anyone anything, I will have your head on my would-be mantle piece’.
Sarah’s POV
Just after three o’clock, as I was making myself a cup of tea (other people’s habits all catch on eventually), there was a knock on the door, followed by a chorus of: “We’re here.” “Is anybody home?” “Did we miss the wedding?” “I don’t see any blushing bride or daring groom”. Stef opened the door and Harry and Josh both kissed her on the cheek, hauling in their bags in one trip. They both greeted Louis with a bro hug and then moved on to greet everyone else.
