Chapter 17.
Stef’s POV
“Oh my gosh you made it!” Wardy grappled the two girls in a bear hug.
“We wouldn’t miss this for the world.” Sarah commented, reaching out for a hug from me. I returned the gesture and then did the same to Cass.
“She wouldn’t miss this for the world.” Cass snidely remarked. I looked at her sourly and she shrugged. “What? She’s probably more excited about your wedding than you are.” We both watched as Sarah greeted everyone else with the same amount of enthusiasm.
“You’re not kidding,” I noted as she grinned like a kid in a sweet shop. “Need help unpacking the car?”
Cass nodded and began sorting everything out and passing stuff out and we all took turn to take it inside. Finally, ten minutes of not much work later, we all went inside and food and drinks were passed around to lighten the mood and add to the anticipation. Just as we were all getting settled, who shows up at the door? Liam does.
“We weren’t expecting you until tomorrow.” Louis greeted him as the boys trooped back out to the car, returning with Liam’s minimal number of bags compared to Cass and Sarah’s ridiculous amount. “...No. I was actually planning on going to...” I missed the last part of what Louis was telling Liam as they crossed the house to the bedrooms.
Sarah and Wardy sat me down on the couch and began doing that thing they do when they both talk at the same time, knowing exactly what the other’s saying while I have no idea. Add in the fact that Sarah talks ridiculously fast anyway, I had no idea what was going on.
“Give the girl some breathing space.” Cass called from the kitchen as she came over, brushing them off. “One at a time.” She ordered. “Sarah first.” Of course that was the smartest thing Cass would say: they both started talking again, stopping in sync then both breaking out into laughs. “Oldest first.”
“Hen’s night?” Sarah asked. I shook my head.
“Oh why not?” Wardy interrupted. “It was going to be so good and the food-”
Only Wardy would talk about the food. And wait. They’ve already planned it all out? “What? Stop stop! This has already been planned? Since when? And why was I not informed?”
“Pfft,” Wardy began, stepping back and falling into the chair, exhausted. “Jorjia and Emma had it all planned, they only told us yesterday, but apparently you don’t want it so it’s not happening. There goes the last of your single life out the window.” She exaggerated.
“Hey, I have lived a great life while I was single. I have hung out with you guys, had a great job, been around the world and met the love of my life.” I listed.
Sarah stepped in here. “Well it’s too bad, it was going to happen and it was going to be a surprise but that’s not going to happen now that you know and I’d put my money forward that Jorjia and Emma won’t be here until tomorrow anyway.”
I shrugged agreeing. “Yeah... and?” Trying to grasp her point.
“Well... it wouldn’t give them that much time to set anything up or what not.” She argued.
Cassie’s POV
“I didn’t get to say hello properly.” I commented just before dinner as I caught up with Zayn in the hallway. His smile grew as he pulled me closer, forehead resting against mine before placing a light kiss upon my lips. “I’ve missed you.” I breathed leaning in for another kiss when Niall pushed past completely ruining the moment. Still, Zayn held me closer, afraid that I would slip away.
“I’ve missed you too Beautiful.” He murmured, kissing my nose causing me to flinch slightly.
“Hey lovebirds, not this weekend.” Louis called from the end of the hallway, beckoning us to the kitchen. “This is my weekend.”
We both nodded and followed. “It’s only Wednesday though.” I noted.
“Fine then... this is my - our week.” Louis grinned as he sat down next to Stef, placing his hand over her’s to which she turned her hand over and their fingers interlaced.
“Is this all of us?” Wardy asked, looking around the table.
Niall shook his head. “Nah. Harry and Josh aren’t here.”
“Mmm, speaking of them, anybody know where they are?” Stef asked, looking at all of us.
We all shook our heads. “Wasn’t Harry M.I.A. recently though?” Sarah asked.
“That was a week ago.”
“So you’ve heard from him since?” She asked.
I shrugged and took a sip of my water. “Not me personally, but people have seen him over in America and whatnot.” I contemplated telling them about the text I’d received just under a week ago from him telling me that he wouldn’t miss the wedding, but at the same time it didn’t tell me where he was. “So nope, I haven’t heard from him.”
“Ok well, I think we all need some sleep, it’s been a long day, five hour drive for the three of you and we all need rest.” Louis summed up while him and Stef were clearing the table.
“But we only just got here,” I complained. I almost screamed when something brushed against my leg; Zayn looked at me kind of devilishly and I went bright pink.
Author's note: Bit of a filler, but have to build it up. Next chapter will be short, one following will be long, then another long one and I'm pretty sure a long one after that as well. This is not my personal favourite chapter. But the suspense... I'm so excited: so much happy stuff!
