Cassie’s POV
The next three days consisted of lazing around and doing nothing. We all had the intention of leaving sooner or later, but nobody did. Eventually though, we all left. And seemingly go our separate ways, Zayn and I (along with Sarah) decided that we would stay at Sarah’s now as the hotel was getting a little bit pricey.
“Morning beautiful.” Zayn murmured as he snuggled up to me. It was the first morning since we’d left Mallacoota. I rolled over onto his chest, looking up at him while he brushed the hair out of my face. It was moments like these that meant everything; both still half asleep, raspy morning voices, comfy clothes and warm environment.
“I have to go into work today.” Sarah came bustling in, throwing the door open, bag slung over one arm, coffee in her right hand and jacket in her left. Draping her jacket over her right arm, she opened the curtains and let in the bright morning light. “I’ll be back around lunchtime. See you then,” She was then hurrying out of the room and not a moment later she came back in. “The apartment keys are on the bench if you want to go anywhere - make sure you lock the place up - and there’s food in the fridge, but I’m sure you could have figured that out.”
“Well, she’s definitely a morning person.” Zayn mumbled as I curled up beside him.
“Mhm. You want a tea of coffee?” I asked, making a move to get up. But he lightly grabbed my wrist and pulled me back to him.
Pulling me into a messy cuddle he whispered. “Not yet. Just wait a minute. Please?” I nodded and wrapped my arms around his waist.
Way lay like that for way too long. I drifted back to sleep after about half an hour and woke up tangled in the sheets, taking up most of the bed. Zayn had rolled over and had his back to me, as far away as possible, probably because I’d pushed him over there, and he looked cold - I had all the blankets over my side too.
“Zayn. Zayn?” I nudged him with my toe repeatedly until he stirred.
Sitting up, I thought he was going to say something a little bit more meaningful than he did. “Your feet are cold.” He yawned, wiping his face and then getting out of bed.
“Well thanks.” I sleepily grinned, getting up also. I walked the two steps to the window watching the cars drive by below and wondered where they were all going. “Do you want a tea or coffee now?” He nodded and hugged me. “Now. Tea.” I pushed away from his arms and made my way into the kitchen, flicking on the kettle and getting out two mugs. “Breakfast?” I suggested.
“I thought we might go out.” Zayn replied, leaning back against the bench as I handed him his mug of tea.
“Sure. Sounds good.”
