Chapter 14.
Sarah’s POV
Cassie went home Friday night, so Zayn hung out with everybody at Sarah and Niall’s over the weekend, I went over on Saturday night, only to realise that they’d all gone out for dinner, so I stayed at their place most of the night, they came back and found me asleep on the couch with the t.v. on way too loud.
I spent Sunday morning cleaning up the apartment, and looking around online for a dress, but found none to my liking. Sunday was supposedly my family day, where my immediate family on my mum’s side all got together for brunch. I wasn’t going today because to me it was kind of awkward going alone. I mean, Josh had only been with me once or twice, but that was recently, and I think my parents were quite fond of him.
Tuesday morning was what brought everything back to life. My phone rang during breakfast, and I was surprised to see it being Sarah. “What’s up?”
“Igotajoboffer.” She squealed.
“What?” I asked, unable to distinguish what she just said.
“They’ve offered me a job.” She announced slowly.
“Who’s they?” I asked.
“I’ll be assisting a fully qualified psychologist for three months, I’ll be paid a decent amount of money, my parents are happy with it, I’m ecstatic and it’s in the city.” Sarah explained.
“That’s wonderful.” I stated proudly. “When do you start?”
“I start on Monday the first of March. Oh my gosh, what do I wear to my first day of work?” She exclaimed so quickly, I barely caught what she’d said.
“Clothes Sarah. Do you want to go shopping?” I suggested.
I heard her giggle. “I’d love to. But when?”
“Well, you have uni tomorrow morning, so... how about Thursday?”
“I can’t, I’m going out for lunch with Niall and both our parents, and Friday I have to interview for the job.” She explained.
“So you don’t officially have it yet?” I asked, confused.
“I do have it, but they just need to assess my level of understanding before they get me to actually work on patients... with the supervision of the psychologist.” She added, just to make sure it didn’t sound too sketchy.
“So? Shopping. How does Saturday sound? Can we get the bridesmaid’s dresses then as well?” I questioned, hopefully.
She paused, think about it, actually, she was probably checking her calendar or something like that. “Sounds great. Will I meet up at your place, or you at mine?”
“You come to my place, it’s closer to the shops.” I finalised.
“Ok, see you then. Oh, what time?”
“Whenever you pick me up I suppose.” I shrugged, even though she couldn’t see it.
“Cool, so after breakfast, before lunch. Bye.” She hung up, and as she did, I realised the ever so slight detail that I’d looked over. Where would Josh be? He’ll be out or something, I can make it up. I lied to myself, setting my phone down on the bench going back to my laptop, looking over the dresses again.
Wardy’s POV
Seeing as I had to go to university tomorrow morning, I put my books in my book bag and finished the essay due next Thursday. I really had no idea what kind of dress I would be looking for, and if I was even slightly more organised, I would have bought it the night Stef had told us all about it. But I wasn’t organised, and I didn’t have the dress... yet.
