3. | STRENGTH IN BONDS

Councilman Marcus Kane walked down the Ark corridors with no particular sense of direction and his head held high. He was informed that after the prisoners were shipped off, the chancellor was shot and the unidentified shooter was still roaming their halls. They were told to not panic and to not tell anyone else but the council, so with nothing much else to do, he decided to busy himself with searching for anyone suspicious that might shift uncomfortably or look away whenever he looked at them. He hadn't detected anything but Commander Shumway advancing towards him. Kane swallowed a sigh. He didn't think he had anything to do with the shooting but despised the rookie after he attempted to get Raina arrested when she was only nine.

"What is it, Shumway?" Kane didn't even try to hide the irritation in his tone. The commander flinched.

"We found the shooter." He answered, then slid a monitor towards the councilman, "Bellamy Blake."

"Who is he?"

"He's nobody, sir. A janitor from Walden but we have every reason to believe he went down with the kids." Shumway paused and slid another photo onto the screen. "His sister, Octavia Blake was one of the one hundred."

Kane nodded. "They hid the kid for sixteen years. Nearly a record."

"But I'm afraid that's not it, sir." Shumway moved the screen and Kane saw something flash in his face. "It seems he wasn't the only one who snuck on. According to the monitors of the hundred, your daughter went down too."

His face paled. Kane's heart plummeted to his stomach in dread as anger flared in his chest. His jaw clenched as realization sunk in.

"She didn't do it alone."

The sun beaming down and fresh, actual air filling her lungs while standing in a field of flowers were all things Raina never thought she'd be able to experience. Who knew earth even had such pretty flowers? Raina was in utter awe as she took in earth's beauty, unaware of the presence behind her until a voice disturbed her thoughts and startled the blonde.

"Pretty neat, huh?"

"Yes!" She exclaimed with a smile as she turned to face the boy. Raina wasn't sure why but she flung herself into his arm and hugged him. Finn's laugh muffled into her hair as he returned the hug. Raina pulled back as Finn stared in awe of the surrounding. Earth was breathtaking.

"He, back on the drop ship, you were going to say something before you were thrown. What was it?" Raina asked curiously. Finn turned back to her, his smile dropping. "Oh, uh...It was nothing important." He forced a tight smile and she nodded despite the fact she was somewhat confused. Finn turned away, then picked his stare back up. "Shall we head back to the drop ship now?"

"We shall."

As they reached the drop ship, her blue eyes landed on the blonde who was staring at what from her view, looked like a map. Curious and bored, Raina headed towards her direction. "I'm surprised they even sent us a map, y'know, since we're expendable and all." She started sarcastically and the blonde looked up at her, nodding with a smile. "Me too. You're Raina, right? Kane's daughter?"

"That would be me." Raina confirmed.

"My mother works with your uncle." She stated before turning her attention back to the map. Then Raina realized she was Clarke Griffin. She used to hang with her and Wells at 'privileged parties' whenever her father forced her to one. A dark skinned boy appeared, stopping at Clarke's side and Raina quickly recognized him to be Wells Jaha. So the Chancellor did send his son to earth.
