4 | THE ONE WITH BELLAMY

Next thing Bellamy knows, he's been taken to the drop ship and on the upper level, watching in utter confusion and now slight concern as Raina shut the hatch. "I'm starting to think you wanted more than just a chat." He wiggled his brows and she rolled her eyes.

"I know what you did to get on the drop ship."

Oh. Bellamy's heart sank to his stomach and he paled. That was not what he was expecting. How did she know? "I - I don't know what you're talking about." He stuttered, then mentally kicked himself for it. Raina could see through it.

"How much do you know?"

"I know enough. That stupid guard - "

"Shumway." He corrected with just as much distaste.

"Yeah, him. He offered you a deal, shoot the Chancellor and you get a seat on the drop ship." She finished. Bellamy exhaled a shaky breath and ran his hand through his hair before he started to pace around the room.

"There was a reason why I did what I did." He defended, stopping to turn to her. "I don't expect you to understand and I shouldn't even have to explain to you."

"So you did it?" She asked. He started to pace again but stopped. "Did what?"

"Kill the Chancellor." She responded, narrowing her eyes sharply at the boy. Even though she pretty much knew he did, she wanted confirmation. How was she supposed to look at Wells now knowing his father was dead?

"Y-Yes..." He stared at her with an intensity that stirred an unsettling feeling in her chest. Bellamy stepped closer to her, closing the gap between them and Raina couldn't step back. If he could shoot the Chancellor with no remorse, what could he do to her? "But you can't tell anyone, okay?"

"Your secret's safe with me." She retorted sarcastically, turning away from him and opening the hatch. Bellamy's jaw tightened as she slammed the door down, leaving him to himself.

It was strange how the sky changed as the day progressed. When they arrived, it was a bright baby blue with white fluffy clouds dancing like she's seen in earth photos and as the dawn turned to dusk it bursted into a streak of colors. Now, it was dark and she could see the stars. From earth's view, they were smaller and just looked like little specs glistening. A part from how beautiful the sunset looked, her favorite time of the day so far was when it was dark and she could see the stars. Even though she was miles away from the Ark, looking at the same stars felt like home.

Nobody aside from Wells dared to leave their claimed camp so Raina took it upon herself to search through the depths of the thick forest in hopes of finding a stream or pond.  Fortunately, the Kane had found a water source with a tiny waterfall and surprisingly enough, it was clear enough that she could see her reflection despite the fact it had been on a radiated wasteland.

She didn't want to show the hundred. As selfish as it might've been, the pond was secluded by bushes and trees and would've been a peaceful getaway if needed but Raina felt bad to not tell the others about the water source. She decided she'd tell them if Finn and the others didn't come back with supplies but until then, it was hers.

Raina stood up, figuring it'd be wise to head back to camp before it fully turned dark. Thankfully, the pond wasn't too far from camp and she used the fire in the distance as a compass. As she emitted from the trees, Wells rose to his feet from where he was seated on the drop ship ramp and approached her.
