He couldn't believe she was dead.

It had been two days since her wristband went out and Kane was still having trouble processing the fact his little girl was dead. Of course, he had already known earth was a death sentence but as long as her monitor still showed a heart beat, he felt comfort. He actually had hope.

And now that was gone.

Kane didn't even know what he was doing until he found himself in Raina's room. He hadn't actually been in there since shortly after she was arrested and asked for some necklace and he had to go in there to get it. Kane walked towards the dresser, pictures and misc items scattered every on top of it with an old Polaroid camera. Kane picked one of them up, careful not to smear fingerprints on it.

It was of Anna. A picture he's never seen, but then again he never payed attention. Kane's eyes watered as he stared closer at the picture of Anna, holding little one year old Raina in her arms. Raina truly was a splitting image of Anna. Every psychical feature was. From the blonde hair to the round, big blue eyes that feigned a look of innocence. Both of them had a light dust of freckles on the bridge of their nose. She didn't look a thing like him.

But Raina definitely had bits of everyone's personality. She had Anna's nurturing way, Ryan's quick witted attitude and his sense of direction. Raina was kind, selfless and somewhat naive, - but the kid could make you rethink your life if she had to. Kane realized that from the endless amount of sassy retorts and temper tantrums when she was growing up.

He took the second photo, this time it was of eight year old Raina and Finn Collins. Kane never liked the boy personally because he was from section Walden and had a fling for trouble but Raina cared for the boy; despite his attempts to keep her away from him.

The third picture was of Raina, probably around twelve at the time with Ryan. Her hair was tied up in a ponytail with an ear splitting smile. Ryan had his arm thrown over her, his smile was closed off and the dimples in his cheeks shone. Kane smiled, but it faded rather fast.

He knew Ryan was better for Raina than he'd ever be. When Kane spent nights at work, Ryan was the one with Raina. Whenever she'd try to get him to do something with her, he'd say no, that he was busy, and she'd go to Ryan. When Raina was arrested, Ryan was the only one who fought for her to be pardoned.

He was a horrible father and now it was too late for him to fix it.

Kane screamed in anger as he knocked off everything on the dresser off, his heart pumping rapidly in his chest as he took in uneven breaths. He stared at the pictures now tossed around the room, the now broken glass and other items before him. Kane's eyes filled with tears, dropping down on his knees as he held his face in his hands.

"I'm sorry."

She had always wondered what it was like to see a storm.

But now that she was in it, she wished she hadn't seen it. The harsh winds blew the hair in her face as the hundred scurried to the drop ship in a attempt to escape the storm. The thunder cracked and lighting took its next strike. It might've been nice to see if it weren't for her best friend dying behind her.
