Warriors Deadly Echoes: Dimming Starlight

Chapter 2

The patrol padded back with their heads low. Onestar pricked his ears. "You all are covered in scratches. What happened?" He asked.
"Rouge attack.." Blackflight growled. The amber eyed WolfClan leader curled his lip.
"Tallclaw's dead..." Dogshade mewed sadly.
Gasps and murmurs filled the camp. Whitestar came forward. "He walks with StarClan now." She meowed. Thrushberry looked on from her den. Willowpelt touched her tail to her shoulders. "I am so sorry.." She meowed.
"We will sit vigil for him." Whitestar meowed to the cats of her Clan. Onestar bowed his head. "I am so sorry for the loss of your warrior." The white and ginger tom meowed.
Whitestar dipped her head in reply and watched as Jayfang and Jaggedtooth put the gray and white tom in the center of the camp.
Jayfang and Thrushberry lowered themselves by their father's unmoving body.
"May StarClan light your path Tallclaw. And may you have good hunting.." Dogshade meowed to her mate. The Clan went and paid their respects to the dead tom.

By the time the vigil was over, all of the clan went to sleep. Onestar hunkered down in his nest in the leader's den. Whitestar streached from the other side of the den.
"You sent Bracnchspots and Risingfrost to guard the camp entrance?" He asked.
"Yes." The dark green eyed she-cat replied.
"Intruders!" Risingfrost wailed.
Cats bursted out of their dens growling and bristling.
"Please spare us! We mean no harm!" A she-cat wailed.
"Everyone stop!" Whitestar yowled. Not a cat moved. Dawnreed padded to stand by her leader.
Whitestar looked at the new comers. "Allow me to introduce myself... I am Huck and these are my companions, Leopard, Velvet, Violet, Guava, and Ridge." He meowed.
Guava was comforting Ridge who looked scared out of his fur. While Violet kept close to Velvet.
"Who's the leader here?" Leopard asked the Clans.
"Both of us." Onestar and Whitestar meowed at the same time.
Huck dipped his head in respect.
"Wait? You both lead?" Leopard asked. "Yes." The two leaders replied.
"You're one of the Clans that lives here." Huck meowed.
Onestar nodded.
"So which clan is which here?" Guava asked.
"ViperClan and WolfClan." Liontail replied.
"WolfClan? You're the Clan that fought against AshClan!" Ridge exclaimed. "Yes we are." Ottertail meowed.
"You know about that?" Feralstorm asked.
"WolfClan and ViperClan fought them all off and clawed their leader to the death!" Guava meowed.
Whitestar pricked her ears at the fact that these cats knew so much of them. "But that battle was moons ago!" Onestar meowed in surprise.
"But cat after cat told the story." Huck told them.
"So... We're known to you all?" Silverleap asked.
Huck nodded his head in reply.
"How do you know? Where do you come from?" Thornfoot asked.
"We came from Twolegplace. Our dwellings were ruined after a Twoleg thing set it on fire... Some of us tried to get away and made it but our friends weren't so lucky..." Velvet meowed sounding sad.
"And you came here?" Dawnreed asked.
"We actually came to a ditch that was a stop by the road." Ridge explained. "We plan on seeking refuge in the clans here." Leopard put in, her golden spotted tail brushing against the grass. Onestar looked deep in thought. "Hmm." Was all he said.
"I will go along with what you say Onestar. Your word is to be heard along with Whitestar's." Feralstorm meowed looking to the white and ginger tom.
"Let them stay the night. They look exhausted." He meowed at last. "Are you sure? We don't want to offend anyone." Huck meowed.
"No. Please." Whitestar mewed. "You all look tired. Please rest." She dipped her head politely.
There was a yawn from Goldensparrow. "I am sure we'll cope.." She went into her nest in the elder's den.
Cats started departing. "Huck may we speak with you?" Onestar asked.
"Of course." He meowed.
Whitestar and Onestar walked into their den. He followed them, looking over his shoulder to make sure his companions were settling themselves.
