It was just before sundown as Foxstar padded to a clearing. Then Crimsonstar came, Whitestar, Onestar, and at last Bravestar.
"Great, this again.." Crimsonstar rumbled sounding bitter and annoyed. "What's our solution?" Bravestar asked. "Just do what we did last time." The ScarClan leader meowed.
"And that was?" The new Clan leader asked.
"Claw them." The yellow eyed tom replied.
"We're not sure if that will work now." Whitestar mewed grimly.
"They could be more prepared." Onestar mewed.
"They attacked us in bitter leaf-bare... What if they're stronger?" Foxstar put in.
Each leader expressed their views other than Bravestar, who was watching it unfold in silence. He heaved a sigh. Onestar looked at him. "Bravestar?" He meowed.
"Wolves have attacked us before." Bravestar meowed.
The leaders all blinked in silence.
"We were able to fight them off easily." Bravestar went on.
"How?" Crimsonstar practically jumped at the fact that he had a possible way to defeat them easily.
"We attacked their she wolves." He replied.
"Like in the ancient battle of WolfClan and ViperClan," Whitestar began to ponder.
"The WolfClan warriors went for the queens of the nursery." Onestar finished.
Bravestar dipped his head. "They easily surrendered." He meowed.
"So we go for the she wolves." Crimsonstar meowed.
"And if they have pups the pups as well. They are like us in someway." He meowed.
The four leaders muttered in low voices. Bravestar waited for an answer. "We like your idea Bravestar. If we can send these wolves out of our forest, StarClan has blessed us all." Whitestar meowed.
Bravestar breathed a sigh of relief. "Very well then." Foxstar meowed. The leaders nodded their heads to each other.
"But your Clan is still small." Crimsonstar pointed out to Bravestar. "I'm sure you all would help us correct?" The TinberClan leader asked. "Of course." They all replied at the same time.
"Then I am not worried. My warriors would help you." He purred.
"We thank you for that." Onestar meowed.
Bravestar nodded his head in return. The leaders returned to their Clans. The sky had darkened to night and Foxstar was curled up asleep in his den. "Foxstar! Foxstar!" Beetail's yowl rang in his ears causing him to bolt up. "What is it?" He gasped. Yowls filled the camp now.
He ran out of his den to see some ScarClan warriors. Brightstripe being among them along with Emeraldeye, Bristletuft, Burnclaw, Flyleaf, Beartooth, Earthpelt and Sunfur. "Crimsonstar's gone!" Beartooth yowled.
"What?!" He exclaimed. This was unbelievable. There was no way he was gone.
"He vanished out of camp!! He's not there!" Brightstripe put in.
"What if the wolves got him?" Sunfur asked.
"That's impossible!" Flyleaf blurted out.
"We've been looking and looking!" Bristletuft told the AshClan leader. Angry and panicked murmurs filled the camp.
"Foxstar?" Beetail appeared at her leader's side.
"Yes?" He asked.
"Your orders?" She asked him curiously.
"Show them a place to sleep." The ginger tabby meowed.
"Slatetooth just sent out a patrol looking for him." Beartooth meowed. "Aright." She dipped her head respectfully.
"You don't have to do this you know." Bristletuft meowed giving slightly embarrassed purr.
"We will help your clan as much as needed." Foxstar meowed.
Smokeclaw stared at Bristeltuft from afar, briefly licking his chest. Rabbit was watching from inside the apprentices den beside Cedarpaw. "We'll beat the wolves." He promised, his blind green eyes blinking. She pressed against him leaning her head on his shoulder. Cedarpaw smiled as she did. Rabbit purred happily. Beetail yawned tiredly as she went into the warrior's den.
