Chapter 10

"Move quicker Leopard! Remember, enemies come from all angles, use your senses." Blackflight meowed to her. The golden she-cat whirled behind her to dodge and attack coming from Whitefang, slamming her paw into his flank. At the same time, Dawnfrost barreled into her haunches sending her on her back. Huck leaped for the white tom, but he reared up and pinned him, paws on his back. But Leopard lunged for the tom and pinned him, being the victor
"Good job." Onestar meowed.
"They're excellent." Dawnfrost commented as he got up. They had been with WolfClan and ViperClan for four sunrises. Leopard had sharpened up her hunting and battle moves. Huck had been an excellent fighter as always.
"Where are Violet and Velvet?" Leopard asked Huck. "I thought they'd join us for battle training."
"They're on a hunting patrol with Feralstorm." Whitefang meowed as he washed his tail.
Guava's kits were healthy and Violet was protective of Velvet and made sure that she was trained well by the Clan cats.
"Hey they're back!" Stagheart meowed. "Let's get back to camp." Onestar flicked his tail and padded over to greet the returning cats.
"Went great." The tan tabby tom meowed through a rabbit.
Pinepaw was bouncing beside Ottertail as he carried a mouse.
Ivorypaw, Sedgeclaw's daughter, apprenticed to Daisypetal, had a frog in her mouth.
"Violet was excellent." Petaldust meowed to Dawreed.
"She really was." The cream furred she-cat meowed.
Jaggedtooth had two mice in his jaws as he padded beside Shadowrip. The tom had a sparrow in his jaws.
"Then.. With the strength of a dog, Huck flung the cat by his tail against a trash can!" Ridge meowed to Feather and Nettle. Even some of the warriors who had stayed behind were listening. He was telling a story.
Feather jumped in fright but her sister Nettle bristled in excitement.
"What happened then?" Starshimmer asked.
"Yeah! Yeah what happened?" Nettle squeaked in excitement.
"Finally, me and a companion of mine went for him and finished it." He replied.
Nettle twitched her tail. "Did it fight back?" She asked wanting to know.
"He ran off squealing." Ridge meowed. "Wow!" Nettle beamed, her green eyes wide in admiration of the tom's fighting tale.
"I bet they regretted facing you." Larchwing meowed.
"One day we're gonna be like you! Right Feather?" She looked to her sister.
"Yeah!" The she-kit nodded her head. "We're going to train and fight hard!" She squeaked.
Huck padded in the camp. Nettle saw him and gasped racing over to him. Onestar was beside him. "Now remember, the important thing to being a strong Clan is," He looked to see her run over.
"Are you Huck?!" Nettle squeaked.
The tom nodded. "Yes."
"That story about how you fought of that cat that's so cool!!" The multi brown she-cat beamed.
He purred briefly licking his chest.
"So if we're a Clan, where will our territory be?" Velvet asked Dawnreed. "There is a territory that was ViperClan's long long ago." She replied. "It's a stretch of untouched land that's nothing but trees now." Cloudfur put in.
"It's a good territory." Branchspots commented.
"What will our Clan name even be?" Violet came in.
"TimberClan!" Nettle squeaked.
The cats looked at her.
"I like it!" Guava chirped.
"Brilliant name." Huck meowed to her. "Like a timber tree! They're strong and well made!" Feather added.
"We'll need more cats." Leopard pointed out.
"We could go! Me and Feather!" Nettle declared.
Nettle nuzzled their adoptive mother. "Could you come with us?" She pleaded.
"I'll come to raise you both until you're warriors." She mewed.
"Bluejay? Are you sure?" Her Fallentooth asked, concern in his green eyes.
Bluejay nodded her head. She had raised them when they had first arrived.
"She'll be fine dad." Minnowwhisker purred.
"We'll protect her!" Nettle mewed. Feather fluffed up her pelt to look bigger and fiercer.
Nettle smiled, her stubby tail moving. Huck smiled purring. The sisters had the courage of the forest cats.
"Onestar, I feel my Clan is ready." He meowed to the white and ginger tom.
