chapter 12 : "you didn't deserve that"

TORI'S POV : 

I felt my eyes fluttering open and was met with a bright white light . was i dead?! ...that was highly unlikely considering the fact that my resistance and immunity was higher than the regular person . then , where the hell was i ?!

i turned my head a little , cringing at its soreness . i was on a bed , that much i knew . as i turned my head a bit further i caught sight of someone slumped in a chair beside me . i blinked a few time and tried focusing on the person . 

Ashton. 

The events quickly came rushing back to me . Ashton confronting me . me realizing i couldn't control him and then realizing i liked him too. Me passing out . that would explain the bed and the nurse's office . 

But what was he doing here ?

i turned my head further to get a better look of him . he was slumped in his seat and was lightly snoring . his chin rested on his chest and his hazel hair fell over his face in strands. his hands were in his lap and his feet lay slack . he looked heartstoppingly beautiful . 

i moved and attempted to sit up. the sheets rustled and ashton's eyes opened . i was greeted with grey orbs that seemed a whole lot more green today . it was only when he was angry or agitated that they turned thunderstorm grey . i shook my head to clear my clearly obsessive borderline stalkerish thoughts. 

"hey " he said , his voice soft . he stood up and perched himself on the corner of the bed . i was staring at him , i knew it . his lips quirked into their ever present smirk , making my heart beat faster . 

"what are you doing here?" i asked , my voice cracking . 

"well , after you passed out in my arms after my clearly overboard confrontation , which i am very , very sorry for , i carried you to the nurse's office and she lay you down . she then tried to chase me away but i couldn't leave you " he said . 

i smiled . despite my confusion and the mixed feelings burning a hole in my heart , i smiled . he mirrored my actions and gave me a million watt grin . 

i was such a goner . 

" what time is it ?" i asked , yawning. he looked down at his watch and said "its two fifteen " . i looked up at him , my eyes widening . "you mean i slept through the entire day?!" i asked in shock . he chuckled and nodded . "if it makes you feel any better " he continued " so did i" he finished . i just shook my head at him , a smile lingering on my lips. 

i looked up to find his eyes on them , his eyes going dark . i gulped , the motion bring his eyes back to mine. i cleared my throat " you didnt have to stay you know" i said . "i know" he replied "i wanted to" . i nodded .

i decided to get up at that point. that was until i felt pain shoot down my back causing me to yelp and crash onto the bed . "tori!" ashton cried out as he caught me and pulled me into his arms. he wrapped them around me and steadied me . i sat there in pain until i slowly felt it pass. "i think you twisted you back when you fainted . you just got up too fast " he said . 

only then i truly realized how we were sitting . he was on the bed and i was practically on him . his arms were around me and my head was resting against his chest , our legs a tangled mess. i made the mistake of looking up . his eyes bore down on me  a look so strong in them , i would have fallen had i been standing. " you're ok" he said huskily . 

it was at that moment that the door to the room crashed open and in came my very worried looking younger sister . "tori !" she yelled "omg i heard you fainted and i couldn't come by and i got so freaked i .." she stopped abruptly , her eyes registering the situation in front of her . 

"what the-" she started only to be cut off by me struggling out of ashtons arms and slowly standing up . " hey tammy" i said walking towards her . her eyes were wide and shocked , but i could see the amused look in them . 

i had hell to pay for. 

"was i interrupting?" she drawled . i laughed nervously and turned to look at ashton who was awkwardly scratching the back of his neck . "no" i said pointedly looking at her . "lets go home and i'll tell you " i said . she nodded , her smile turning into a grin . "i'll meet you outside in a second"  i said . she laughed "don't take too long " she threw out before walking out the door. 

i walked back to ashton . he opened his mouth to say something before i cut him off . "i know we need to talk . i understand why you kissed me but i'm just really confused right now ." i said hurriedly . he grimly nodded " i can't explain it to you but things are way more complicated than they look " i finished as confusion lined his features . "i get it " he said " i just want you to know how i feel about you . when you have your thoughts sorted , we'll talk about this some more " he said. 

i smiled at him . "thanks and sorry i slapped you . you didn't deserve that " i said , my cheeks heating up. 

i turned to leave when he called out . i turned around expectantly . "i never mean to hurt your feelings when i ignored you " he said . "i was kind freaked out by what i felt ." he finished . my mouth hung slightly open . 

he looked up and straight into my eyes "never again" he said with confidence. i nodded again giving him a weak smile before heading out to the hall . 

what was i going to do ?!

A/N : HEY GUYSSS!!! i know , i am such a bad person . i can't believe its been almost a month since i last updated . its a shocker even for me . i sincerely apoogise to all my readers for the gap , i really had trouble finding my creativity but i assure all of you that i am back !

i proofread the last chapter and i was satisfied with the direction the storys' heading in . this chapter gave me such warm vibes . but i am warning you guys , there is some bitterness to come . i mean whats a story without some. 

anyways , i would really like it if you guys voted , for some confirmation that i am doing this right . thanks you to everyone who is still around to find out what happens and the next chapter will be out really soon  *cheers * .
