chapter 22 "can you not be so whipped"

ASHTON'S POV :

I felt like i was living someone else's life. i couldn't identify with the me i was even a few months ago . i was a stone-hearted jerk , who dated girls because he was bored . i didn't care about anything beyond the next party . the next game . 

now i was acting like a love sick puppy . all i could think about was tori . i couldn't close my eyes without visions of her glowing violet eyes and her perfect smile swimming in front of me . i woke up each day waiting to hear her tinkling laugh or see her amused expressions which she directed exclusively towards me . i couldn't wait to feel her shiver when i touched her . 

i was scared of this . all of it . when she told me we couldn't be together , i was admittedly hurt . but i also told myself that it was for the best . after all , that was the reason i stayed away from her in the first place . 

she was too alluring , her charm too captivating . and even though she told me she couldn't control my thoughts and actions , i perpetually felt like i was under her spell. 

i know . disgusting . 

the old me never had these thoughts. but i was so prepared to sacrifice him to be the me tori wanted .ever since we had mutually decided to date , things were amazing . the only problem was ,now she was constantly a red tomato whenever i was around her . 

but that was hardly a problem . in fact , i even found it endearing . 

i smiled as i walked out of my math class with jordan and garett .i knew I had a stupid smile on my face but i really couldn't help it . "dude" Garrett growled elbowing me in the stomach "can you not be so whipped . I actually had an appetite before I saw your face today " . I chuckled and shrugged .

We walked towards our lockers when I saw tori and her friends walking out of their first period class . memories of the grand PDA we had exhibited made me smile again . when I walked closer to her though ,my smile slipped off of my face .why did she look like she had been crying .

I beelined towards her ,gathering her tiny face in my hands ."what's wrong sweetheart ? You OK ?" I asked . she just nodded ,her face going red again . I heard someone clear their throat and looked to see her friends glaring at me .

"Oh" I said dumbly "I'm guessing you told them ?" She giggled and nodded . Adelaide took a step forward towards me ,crossing her arms under her chest and arching her brow at me . I heard garett whistle in appreciation at her . "so ,now that we know that you and tori have been doing the hanky panky ,let's get some things clear " she said ,her words making tori whip her head in my direction .

Megan took a step forwards and slung her hand over Adelaide's shoulder ."how about we start with what happens to you if you mess up in any way" she said ,her lips quirking up in a smirk . I heard both my idiot friends hooting behind me . "its simple ,really " Adelaide began "if you hurt tori ,we hurt you . and you don't want to ever experience that " she said in a sweet voice contradicting her threat .

I nodded . "understood" I said extending my hand for a handshake . I saw a twinkle pass through her eyes as she firmly shook my hand .

"Now " I said "if you guys don't mind ,I haven't kissed my girlfriend for an hour " I said ,smirking . I moved past them and pulled tori to me ,her hand flying to my shoulders and her body flushed against mine . "Ashton" she warned . "shush baby " I whispered ,kissing her soundly .

The last thing I was conscious of was the protests and puking sounds our friends were making behind us .

Things are going well so far but if it continued this way the book will end soon and i have no intention of doing that .
