He pushed me and i was angry . all day they had bullied me , i didn't even know why . they knew i was different from the rest , i looked different too . unreal . and so they pushed me around . but without actually thinking about it i ordered him in my head to hit himself . and then i ordered the rest to hit him .
i was angry and it was probably not a concious thing , but i was doing it anyways . later that day , the principle called my mother to school and told her that i had started a fight . my mother looked at me with a feeling of sympathy and apologised to the principal , assuring him she would make sure i never did that again .
as soon as we got out , she puled me close and kneeled down in front of me "tori" she said "sweetheart , did you order them to hit that boy ?" she asked . i mutely nodded . she sighed and placed her hands on my shoulders " "tori, no one is going to understand you like i am , but i want you to know that the only way we can live like everyone else is if we learn to control our powers"
end of flashback
That was nine years ago , when i was an innocent child . that was back when i didn't realize the full extent of my powers . my mom had always been there to tell me what i should do ,but these days , i was sure even she couldn't do anything .
it had been two whole hours since ashton kissed me . the kiss of the century . when he kissed me i lost my grip and almost slid to the floor , the only thing holding me up was his hold on me . i kissed him back this time , tired of the game i had to play to live my life happily . at that moment the only thing on my mind was the choice between my powers and my happiness .
because that was what i was when i was with him . Happy.
flashback :
i felt him pull away and lay his head against mine . i opened my eyes and found myself staring into his grey-green ones . he smiled , showing a rack of pearly teeth and kissed my forehead . i melted into a puddle of goo at that point .
"sweetheart" he smirked , reminding me of the first time i met him " are you telling me you didn't like that?" he whispered . i just shook my head , looking down at my toes . he put one finger below my chin tilting it up and looking at me "i think we have a lot to talk about" he chuckled , the sound of it resonating deep in my chest "lunch" he affirmed before kissing my fingers in his hand and walking away .
"ashton" i called out . he turned to face me "lunch " i said before smiling and walking away, the buzz in my ears ringing louder with each step.
end of flashback
i have no clue what gave me the confidence at that time . i mean seriously?! i didn't want to see ANYONE for the rest of the day , let alone the guy who basically set my entire body on fire with a single kiss. i was sitting in geography class , with meg on one side and addy on the other . they both know what had happened and wouldn't stop giggling like children .
the bell rang , interrupting ms. roberts in the middle of her lecture on tectonic plates and why they were so ignored in the field of geography . needless to say , i wasn't listening . my head was wandering far away in the land of kisses , ashton summers and decisions .
i was snapped out my thoughts when addy poked my in the side . "toriiiii" she yelled "guess what time it is ? LUNCH " she yelled as she and meg dissolved into a fit of giggles again , earning dirty looks from ms, roberts . "oh god" i said , convinced i was going pale . "relax , hon" meg said " you guys shared saliva not even three hours ago , i'm sure you can share a conversation just fine" , she smirked .
i cringed at her words and felt a light blush coming on . i fought it off and stood up gathering my things . we walked towards the cafeteria and through the doors into the noisy chaos . i found myself automatically searching for ashton and a frown settled on my face when i didn't find him . i just sighed and made my way to the line to get my food .
i stood waiting when i suddenly felt someone grip my waist . "hey sweetheart" ashton whispered into my ears, earning quite a few curious looks . i turned around to face him , my knees going weak and the butterflies going crazy . "h-hey" i stuttered . he cocked an amused eyebrow "nervous?" he asked . i nodded earning a light laugh from him . "sweetheart , you amuse me " he said " oh and by the way " he whispered "i will never regret kissing you "" he said huskily .
"its not like you did the last time " i said , rolling my eyes . "there she is" he said , tapping my nose with his finger . i was so happy and jittery at that point i almost forgot about my decision . Almost.
i sighed and placed my palm on his chest in an attempt to put some distance between us . we both shivered from the contact . " ash" i said , eliciting a grin at the endearment from him . "i cant . WE can't . " i said . his face twisted in confusion "we can't what ?" he asked "this! us! we can't " i repeated . "why not " he said . "i told you we just can't " i said "can you stop saying that " he said an exasperated look on his face .
"look , why don't you think about this clearly, and we can talk later " he said rubbing up and down my arms . i shivered . how had this even happened ?! it seemed like just yesterday that he tripped over me at the beach and dumped an entire glass of soda on me . and now we both stood barely two inches apart with his hands on me .
i guess that's life .
i nodded before moving to grab my food and moving to my table . this was such a mess .
