chapter 13 "being around her mended me"

ASHTON'S POV:

I never expected her to faint. the minute i walked into school , i had a game plan in mind . i would find her and i would shake some sense into her . if she was angry , she'd just have to get over it . i didn't regret a thing . 

i was getting my stuff when i saw her walk in . i closed my locker and began walking towards her . as i reached her , i grabbed her wrist forcing her to turn around and look at me. i saw her eyes widen and her cheeks flushed slightly . she turned around and told her friends to carry on . 

good choice . 

as we began talking , she just got more and more agitated . i saw her face scrunch up , much like the first time i met her . what was that ? some sort of defense mechanism? ...i saw her as the color drained out of her face "tori?" i called out . 

even then things were in control . until her eyes glazed over and she began falling . i screamed her name out , but she was out cold. thankfully , i caught her before she hit the ground. i sank onto the floor with her in my arms . had i overwhelmed her?! 

the guilt hit me like a ton of bricks . sure , this morning i had a bunch of emotions towards her . anger,  hurt , determination . the feeling inside me had made my words come out forcefully . 

oh my god , i had caused tori to faint. 

the rational part of me took over as i scooped her into my arms , her head falling against my chest . even unconcious she looked beautiful . i walked with her in my arms to the nurse's office , ignoring the curious looks we were getting . as i almost reached the office i heard someone scream out tori's name . 

i turned around to find her best friends standing there . meg and addy looked furious . "what did you do?!" addy demanded . she was petite and had a childish look about her , but right now she had a vicious glint her eye which made it very clear that she wanted to kick my butt for touching her friend. 

"she fainted " i said  my voice holding no emotion . "no shit , sherlock" addy sneered . meg put her hand on addy's shoulder , calming her down . as popularity went we on top of the food chain . both me and meg and addy were popular . i guess that's where the confidence to give me a verbal butt-kicking came from .

"we were talking and she fainted . i think our topic of conversation overwhelmed her" i said , my voice firm . addy took a step forward with an intention to land one on me when meg stopped her . she looked at me before saying "take her to the nurse . we'll talk later " i nodded at her before carrying tori into the nurse's office . 

the nurse took one look at tori before jumping out of her seat and instructing me to put her on one of the beds . she checked her temperature and concluded that she had had a shock reaction . 

what was it that shocked her so much ?

"she'll  be alright " the nurse , mrs pillsbury , said . i nodded and moved to sit down . "uh uh mister what do you think you're doing . go to class now " mrs.pillsbury commanded , gripping my arm to push me out . "please ma'am" i threw in hoping to charm her into agreeing "let me stay . im really worried about her " i said . 

her eyes softened as she sighed and then nodded , going back to her station while muttering about lovesick teenagers . i sat myself down in one of those chairs and watched tori sleep .soon i felt my own eyes closing before i dozed off.

i wok too the sound of sheets rustling . i opened my eyes and saw tori sitting up , her hair surrounding her in a dark halo and her eyes looking at me . i sighed at the sight and stood up smiling before sitting at the edge of her bed . i could've sworn i felt her gasp .
