Chapter 14 "love will give you a greater rush "

TORI'S POV :

I walked out the doors of the school to find tammy leaning against my car , on her phone . i increased my pace and reached by her . "hey" i said . she turned and looked at me before i wry smirk graced her bright red lips . "hi yourself , sis" she drawled . i rolled my eyes at her childishness . yeah , sure , we were caught in a compromising situation . so what?! 

"can we go?" i asked , my words tired . "uh uh" she waggled her brows " first you spill" . i sighed "spill what , tam, there's nothing to spill" . she just shook her head at me . Me! her older sister . "okay , lets start with what you were doing all cuddled up and comfy in ashton summer's arms " she started . i sighed again . i seemed to be doing a lot of that lately . 

"we got in an argument , i fainted , he carried me to the nurse . when i woke up and tried to stand , my back twisted and he caught me before i fell. things escalated , blah blah " i finished boredly.  a look of shock passed tammy's eyes . "what made you faint?" she placed an arm comfortingly around my shoulders . i shrugged . i didn't even know if i should tell her. 

since we were kids , me and tammy were really close . we loved each other and stood by each other . sure she could be and annoying little pain but i overlooked that for the memories we had . 

i wondered at that moment if fate was real . my mom and dad believed it was what got them together. they were meant to be , how could they not ? my mom family had always been of our kind with a long line of mind readers and controllers before her . my dad had a long line too . basically both my parents were children of rich, wealthy intellectuals and had somehow gotten together , fallen in love and gotten married . so in that context , i guess fate was real .

but was fate what brought me and ashton together ?

i was shaken out of my thoughts by tammy calling my name ."are you okay?" she asked , worry creasing her features. i nodded . "get in " i said to her "i'll tell you on the way" she nodded and got into the driver's seat. "you sure you can drive ?' i asked her. she just got her license . i was a senior , i had been driving for two years. she just waved my concerns off .

as we drove , i told her how when we'd first met , i had tried to control his mind and it hadn't worked and how it never crossed my mind that i couldn't . i told her everything from him ignoring me to our kiss at the party . his confrontation , my realization .

when i finished , tammy sat very still a shocked look on her face . "tam?" i called . she shook her head once as if to clear it . 

"tori " she started gently " listen , i know how it feels to like someone-" " i don't like him " i cut her off. she turned and gave me her 'really? who you kidding , me or yourself?' look . i rolled my eyes and motioned for her to continue. "our powers are important, we can't just let it go like that" she said. 

"i know " i sighed. "listen , you've always told me to be careful and not do the only thing that will take away my ability. Please follow that advice" she said . i nodded again , my voice trapped in me . this was getting out of hand. all my life i had never believed in feelings having power. i mean sure they existed , but this way? 

i remembered at that moment my mom telling me something when i was little . "tori" she had said " if ever you love someone , don't be afraid of losing your ability . because love will give you a greater rush than them " at the time i hadn't understood her but now i thought about that . was love really worth it ? all this trouble?

"i will" i assured tammy who was looking expectantly at me . "so" i began " what about you?" she just smiled and turned red . what a dead give away. 

"tammy" i began " who is it?" i asked . "this guy called levi , i met him on the beach -" she was cut off my by me . again " ohmygosh , tam! you're into beach guy?!" i squealed. she just sighed "his names levi , tori" "yeah , yeah " i said . 

it was weird thinking of tammy with anyone . even though we were only two years apart , she was still my baby sister . "are you guys together?" i began warily . she just shook her head . "he doesn't know , but he seems interested. " she said .

 "tammy , please be careful okay i don't want you getting hurt " i said . she just groaned " stop with the big sister talk please . you've got your own drama to solve " i just pinched her side as she jumped. 

when we were little every time she annoyed me , i would pinch her . by now , she was used to it . 

we parked outside the house and jumped out. we walked in together , tammy going on about some boots she's seen in a magazine when my mom arrived in our vision . "hey mom" we both called out and dissolved a string of childish jinxes. 

"girls!" my mom cried and enveloped us in a crushing hug. my mom was a woman in her late thirties . her hair was black like mine but hers was cut in soft waves that framed her face and fell to her shoulders.it went perfectly with her green eyes , eyes tammy had inherited. she stood at 5'7" and dressed as classy as they got . my dad had met her college and fallen in love with her crazy personality and knockout looks . 

when she finally let us go , we were all out of breath . i took a step back and noticed she was in a skirt suit. "whoa mom , whered'you go ?" i asked. "oh some medical conference" she waved and and walked into the kitchen . 

after we told our mom about our day on her asking and my fainting , obviously leaving out the reason and the person who'd stayed with me , she told me to head straight upstairs and lie down . i nodded , deciding i could use some rest.

as i lay down , i thought about ashton . his green eyes filled my head before sleep found me . i had to get rid of that image .

it was either that or my powers. 

A/N : hey guys . i busted this out really fast . that took some energy outta me that i now need to sleep off. anyways...this chapter focuses on tori's decision . how is it going to proceed? well, never be confident about the direction a book is heading in . if i am going to put in everything i had originally planned , it is going to be crazy . 

or i could just spare everyone the heartache and put in rainbows and sunshine . 

nah . not happening. xD

the next chapter is also going to be a tori's pov because it only gives a clear picture on the situation if the story is in tori's world . but i will be putting in ashton's pov and some other unexpected povs !! i hope everyone likes this chapter  if you did please vote and follow me for updates .
