I check my watch impatiently as I wait for the Joker. I turn the dial on the car radio up a little just to blast out all the creeping thoughts in my head. I close my eyes and lay back for a mere second, or so I thought, when I hear a loud tap on the car window. Jolting up, my head makes hard contact with the roof.
"Shit." I rub my head and look at the window to see a note taped to it.
Stepping out into the chilly breeze, I grab the note and immediately read.
"I'm not the one you need to be worried about Aiden. Watch the people around you. I will tell you that Raven is safe for now. I can't tell you where she is or I could get into some serious shit. But you need to hurry."
-The Joker.
I scan over the note about ten times before I scrunch it up and fling it at nowhere in particular.
He's making no sense. He wants me to find her, but he gives me no obvious clues as to where. After a minute of deliberation, I hop back in the car ready to go back to the police station. I doubt they would believe me though, so I get back out and grab the crumbled up piece of paper as evidence. In frustration, I hurriedly pull out of the parking spot, not noticing a man walking behind. When I hear a thump I immediately shuffle out of the car.
"Oh shit. Oh shit. Oh shit." I drive my hands through my hair when I see the man unconscious and his leg set in an abnormal way.
I bite my fist, thinking about my options.
Okay so....It was an accident. Obviously. I didn't know he was there. I'll just take him to the hospital and nobody will know a thing. Yeah, I already have enough crap on my plate. I bend down and grab the man, throwing him in the back seat and make my way to the hospital. Just my damn luck.
