"Who are you?" A voice broke the silence.

"I'm sorry?" Newt responded.

The girl repeated again, "Who are you?"

Newt introduced himself, and the lady then looked at me. "I'm (Y/n) Dompteur," my voice was shaky, but I kept myself composed.

"And you are?" Newt asked.

She didn't care for what had just been asked, as she continued on interrogating us, "What's that thing in your case?"

"That's my Niffler."

"Why in the name of Deliverance Dane did you let that thing loose?" She was getting angry. I followed their conversation, but stayed silent.

"I'm taking you in!" My mind focus back onto what she was saying, and I yelped quietly as she took Newt and me to MACUSA.

The lady showed her symbol to a door man, and let us in, "So, you work for MACUSa? Are you some kind of investigator?" Newt asked, nervously.

She hesitates, but nods. "Can you please tell me you took care of the no-maj?"

Newt was confused, so I explained, "American word for muggle."

She was irritated, but worried, "You wiped his memory, correct?"

Newt look away, not having the answer she wanted. "That's section 3A, Mr. Scamander, Ms. Dompteur. I'm taking you in-"

"You've already told us that," I sassed. She glared at me, not happy with my actions. I made a mental note to not joke around her, she seemed to uptight, like she had a stick up her arse.

The two continued to speak, while I stayed, watching. We were now walking through New York, being lectured. She asked what Newt was doing in New York, he said he was here to find a breeder. She then asked me the same.

"Oh, um, I'm just looking around for dragons," my voice was soft, quiet. Nearly unable to be heard.

"Dragons!" She freaked. I nodded, then explained how there were sightings of a dragon along the east coast, and that I had been traveling along, starting in Maine. I knew I was rambling, so I shut my mouth. I always got to excited about dragons. "Two animal lovers. Great."

She continued shoving us around, until we seemed to have interrupted something important. I hid slightly behind Newt, just wanting to go away from New York, go look for Dragons.

The group was speaking of a beast, my ears perked up. Some of the damage I had seen look similar to what a dragon could do, so maybe eavesdropping could give me a lead. Newt seems to have paid more attention once the word 'Beast' was mentioned.

Suddenly, Madam President spoke up, telling Tina off, as if she got fired. I laughed to myself. Goldstein, as everyone called her, was basically kicked out, along with Newt and I. So, she was a Auror.

"So, if you're no longer an Auror, can you really keep us, or is that someone else job?" I spoke up. She seemed angry at my comment, but Newt picked up on it. He chuckled, Goldstein glared at me.

"Got your wand permit?" I nodded, Newt the spoke for himself.

"I made a postal application weeks ago," he was lying through his teeth. Goldstein the search for his name.

"You were just in Equatorial Guinea?" I looked at him, quizzically. Wasn't he just in London?

"I'm writing a book on magical creatures, I've just completed a year in the field." She did just search for a last name. He possibly had siblings.

"Like--an extermination guide?" My breath hitched, how awful. How could one ever want to kill an animal, of any sort.

"No, a guide to help people understand why we should protect these creatures, instead of killing them," I sighed in relief.

Suddenly, a man was calling for Goldstein, telling her off for butting in on the investigation team. So that's what they were. She looked guilty while hiding behind Newt. The man then looked at me, and introduced himself. He wasn't so kind with Newt. "Where'd she pick you up?"

"Me?" Newt seemed confused. He looks to Goldstein, who seems to wish for silence.

"Have you been tracking them Second Salemers again?" She said no. The male was definitely agitated. Someone then walks by, and was greeted as 'Mr. Graves.' Finally, I got a name of the man who was speaking to us, Abernathy.

"Mr. Graves, sir, this is Mr. Scamander--he has a crazy creature in that case and it got out, and caused mayhem at the bank, sir."

"Let's see," Newt gave him the case, slight worry and fear in his eyes. He opened the case, and it was full of pastries. Newt looked horrified, but the man Graves seemed to be happy, smirking at another mistake on her behalf. "Tina..."

He leaves, and then the man--Abernathy, comes up to me, wishing me a sweet farewell. It was, interesting.

"Where will you be dragging us to next, or may we part ways?"

"Shut it, you. I've about had it with your mouth," she fumed. She then left us, alone. I looked at Newt, and he shrugged. We decided to follow her, making our way down the New York street while she was nearly crying about her mistake, still lecturing me, she doesn't seem to like me all too much.
