Fantastic (Newt Scamander X Reader)

Safety

We all stood on a the roof of Jacob's grandfather's house. As everyone was chatting away, I couldn't help myself, so I stood on the edge of the building, looking over the city. The city was calm after all the chaos we had created, but no one in the city knew. It kept on living, undisturbed.

I let out a small breath, seeing it form and get taken by the wind. It took everything in me to not jump and transform and just be free to rid myself of all my worries. "(Y/n)!" Newt's voice caught my attention. I turned around, watching my footing carefully. He gestured for me to follow, leading me to believe we had our next step in our plan.

Newt filled me in as we were on our way to an underground magical pub. We were off to see a man who could help us catch the Demiguise. Our main motive was so that Graves couldn't use the beasts as a scapegoat for what's happening to the city, but I knew Newt was simply excited to have his beasts back.

Tina had lead us to an alleyway that ended with a lovely poster covering the dead end. Queenie and Tina stand in front of the poster, then turn to each other and raise their wands in unison. Suddenly, their clothing becomes lovely flapper dresses.

Next, Tina turns to the poster and knocks four times. I notice Newt changing his outfit slightly, giving himself a nice bowtie. I realize it's now my turn and make my comfortable outfit a lovely black flapper dress that ends more unevenly with a dark blue fabric. The dress hugged me tightly but it was one of my favourites. My hair changed too, it became the normal short style with a headband that matched my dress, and black heels covered my feet.

I send a smile to Newt as he stares slightly at my dress, my cheeks flaming up. I look over and see Jacob look slightly sad as he isn't dressed as fancily as the rest of us. I use my wand and change his clothing to a nice suit with a tie that went with Queenie's dress. I noticed them both blush.

A hatch opens and the shift eyes of the lady of the poster become the eyes of a security guard. He lets us in and I take in the scenery of the pub. Many criminals hung around, their wanted posters hanging on the wall proudly. There is a goblin singing jazz music, and she uses her wand to illustrate her music in the air.

I decide to go off on my own and let everyone else do their thing. I sit down at the bar and ask for a drink. Besides me sits a male, who was no doubt very attractive, and behind him was his wanted poster. James Elliott. "How about I buy that drink for ya, love," he spoke with a slight slur, whiskey on his breath. I nod, accepting the drink. "You're a very lovely lady," hic, "How about I take you somewhere?"

His and my conversation gets cut off by a house elf shouting, "MACUSA IS COMING!"

"Maybe some other time, James," I wink, then leave quickly. I notice him disapparate, and wish I could do the same. I rush over to be with Newt, Tina, Queenie, and Jacob. Many of the people around are getting taken by Aurors. I gulp and disapparate along with the rest of the group.

When I get back on my feet I notice we are all outside of a department store where a purse comes off of a mannequin on its own. Everyone huddles together and we watch the bag float off into the store. We found the demiguise!

Everyone follows Newt as we tiptoe through the barren isles of the store, and we end up behind a large plastic Christmas display. "So Demiguises are fundamentally peaceful, but they can give a nasty nip if provoked," Newt whispered us the warning, and I made a mental note. As if on cue the Demiguise appears. It is a short, silver haired orangutan-like creature, with a curious and wize face. It seems to be reaching over to a box of sweets.

Newt directs everyone different places and tells us to be unpredictable as the Demiguise can see the most likely immediate future. I see Newt, creeping up behind the creature.

I come up next to Newt and Tina who were talking about an Occamy. It was just a baby and it was just so cute. Newt holds his hand up, "Mummy's here," he spoke. He is such a sweetheart.

Suddenly, a ruckus breaks out. All I know is Newt is telling us to find a teapot and a tiny insect. I look around trying to find either of the things Newt asked for. While I'm at it, I see the Demiguise riding Jacobs back. The ceiling above is getting destroyed.

I think I should try and speak and calm the creature down. "Hey there buddy, I know it's stressing right now and everything is scary," I keep distracting while everyone else shuffles about to find a teapot and insect, "How about we calm down," I walk closer and put my hand on it's snout, causing the Occamy to slow it's breathing and calm down. I hum a small tune that a mother would sing to her children and it seems to work.

Tina found a teapot and someone else found a roach. Instead of having a huge mess a spoke once more to the Occamy, "Look, we have food for you! Why don't you shrink down and eat," the Occamy, who was definitely hungry, shrinks and jumps into the pot at the same time.

Tina puts her hand on my shoulder, "Thank god we had you, who knows how that could have went." She was being kind to me, encouraging me. It felt, nice. We finally had everything back in Newt's case, and a small amount of stress came off my shoulders. Next was to find away to get away from MACUSA, safely.
