Happiest Saddest

She's the girl who looks happiest by day
Saddest by night
She's the girl who fooled everyone
By day
She's the girl who followed all the rules
With a smile on her face
She's the girl who found love
And basked in its glow
She's the girl who was extroverted
And made everybody love her
She's the girl who's smile
Made even the grumpiest's day
But at the end of the day,
The rules didn't save her
Love hated her
Her shell closed around her
Her smile faded
By night,
She's the girl who cried herself to sleep
She's the girl who never knew love
She's the girl who always wore sweaters
To hide what was underneath
She's the girl who could never tell anyone
Anything
They wouldn't listen anyway,
Because who would've believed that
The happiest girl in the world
Was also the saddest?
