"I understand a fury in your words, but not the words." -Othello, Act 4, Scene 2

Dear Louis,

I heard you and El finally got married. Guess my invitation got lost... That was meant to be a joke. I know there's no way in hell she'd ever let me be invited to your wedding. When we were getting married I wasn't planning on inviting her to the ceremony...or reception...

But that's all ancient history now. You know when I look at the photos of you and El I'm actually really glad we never did tie the knot. It would've been miserable... No offense but it would've. God knows what it would've done to Tellie...

Let me cut to the chase. I'm sending this 'cause I lost your phone number (Okay I deleted it) but I'm moving back to London. Yay or whatever... I've done enough...I don't know what I've done really but I'm moving to London and I've got a teaching job at that creative arts high school. :)

I was hoping maybe we could catch up sometime

I just stared at the letter in awe, not even caring that dad was touching my hair while I did it.

"You need to wash your hair more often." Dad commented. "By more often I mean tonight."

"You said nothing was in the letter." I snapped, looking over my shoulder.

"There is nothing." Dad replied snatching the letter from my hand.

"Did we read the same letter?" I asked as I sat the other way on the bed so I was looking at dad who just nodded while he laid on the bed,the letter now folded on the bedside table.

"I'd have gotten more information from reading instructions on how to set up a tent."

"Shouldn't you read those anyway?"

"Why would I waste time on that?"

"Is that why the other year when you put the tent up in the lounge room it sorts collapsed?"

"Tells you were nine I'd hardly call it the other year. Besides if you listened to me when I told you not to cover the thing in blankets and pillows it wouldn't have broken."

"Whatever... But you said there was nothing important in the letter."

"There wasn't."

"There was." I exclaimed. "That bit-the woman you cheated on El with is moving into the same city and teaching at my high school."

"You don't know that she's teaching at your school." Dad replied, picking the letter up from the bedside table and turning it through his fingers.

"She wrote the creative arts high school. There is only one creative arts high school in London and I attend it." I persisted. "What if she becomes my teacher?"

"Then you hope she doesn't give you to much homework." Dad said bluntly. "Speaking of homework go do yours."

"It's Friday afternoon. I don't have any. How come you aren't going skits about the fact that Eidee could be my teacher?"

"Why would I? It's no big deal-"

"No big deal? It's gonna be awkward if I walk into English every day and the teachers your ex. What am I supposed to say? "Hey miss you were gonna become my stepmum and had an affair with my dad that broke him and my current stepmum up-"

"That's enough of that." Dad cut in. "Chances are you won't even end up with her as a teacher."

"I have a lot of bad luck. If that doesn't do it karma will screw me up anyway..." I muttered.
