"Sometimes, you read a book and it fills you with this weird evangelical zeal, and you become convinced that the shattered world will never be put back together unless and until all living humans read the book." -John Green

"...When I'm in the studio recording I don't expect to be called and told my daughters swearing at school!" Dad snapped. I didn't even bother to defend myself in situations like this. I went into Eidee's class room knowing I'd call her bitch and left knowing she'd call dad. So it wasn't shocking that once dad came home from the studio he was lecturing me. I knew it was going to happen ever since El picked me up from school. I liked the days when El picked me up, usually she took me shopping or to Starbucks before we went home. And today we did that.

"If I get told your swearing one more time I'm taking your iPod again." Dad continued.

"I never got it back." I muttered as I drummed my fingers on the right arm of the lounge.

"I put it in your room yesterday-stop trying to change the subject. No swearing okay? I don't care if you go around swearing with your friends outside of school, but no swearing at school, or around me or any adult for that matter."

"You don't even know what happened..."

"What happened then? Come on tell me."

"Can I swear while I explain what happened?"

"Fine. Go on, explain yourself then."

"All I did was call Eidee a bitch. And the other day you said it was a perfectly good describing word for her."

"You don't just call your teacher a bitch."

"Dad she sorta embarrassed me in front of the whole class." I said dully as dad sat on the left arm of the lounge.

"What'd she do?" He asked, curling his lip.

"She told the class she dated a celebrity, and she had to say it was you." I replied.

"You can find that out on google."

"But nobody in my class was ever going to google that. Do you know how embarrassing it is when your teacher tells everyone she dated your dad?"

"No I don't... But because she said that isn't a reason to call her a bitch."

"I didn't say that was the reason. It's just one of many-she took my phone off me, then when I went to get it back she went all personal about it."

"Look, I'll call your school and see if I can get you moved out of Eidee's class. How's that sound?"

"Thank you." I mumbled.

"You're still in trouble though-"

El cut him off. "How can you punish her for calling Eidee what she is?"

I'd been waiting for El to say something like that. After school when I told her I called Eidee a bitch she seemed very happy with me..

"Eidee ruined our relationship." El continued. "Or don't you remember that?"

"Yes I remember that..." Dad muttered. "But she can't just go around calling her teacher a bitch."

I rolled my eyes. "I'm still here guys..."

"You can't exactly blame Tellie for having issues with her." Eleanor persisted.

Dad sighed. "Fine. Tells, you're off the hook. But if you call her a bitch one more time-"

"What about a whore?" I asked.

"No. Now stop swearing or I'll change my mind."

"Oh um and dad..." I muttered. "Eidee actually told me that she's...um she "likes" you."
