"I'm definitely not the broken girl I used to be." -Demi Lovato
Louis sighed, his mind racing with the thoughts of Marnie. He'd forgotten how Tellie had obviously had known Marnie from when she was little, but Louis had never expected her name to be mentioned around him again. Louis looked to Tellie, who as usual had her back to him, breathing silently. Louis knew she was only pretending to sleep, she always tossed and turned in her sleep, and right now she was dead still. Like she was frozen.
Louis swallowed the lump in his throat as he thought about Marnie. It's not like Louis had ever truly had anything against her, she was just one of those bitches you could never be so sure about. But he could only imagine the crap Marnie would come out saying, he knew she had enough dirt on both him and Phoebe to make Tellie despise both of them.
"Tellie," Louis said looking to his phone. By now she looked more at ease and no longer looking like she was faking her sleep; but she was, she was faking ever little movement she made to give off the illusion that she was in fact asleep. "Tellie." Louis repeated. Tellie did nothing, not even a slight movement at the mention of her name.
Louis breathed in heavily sliding through his contacts, still thinking Tellie was asleep. He clicked on Killian's contact, feeling disgusted that Killian even was a contact in his phone. But Louis had always just kept Killian's number for Tellie's sake. He'd listened to her beg to see him every time Louis had told her he was taking her to Doncaster, and he'd seen the excitement on her face every time he reluctantly caved. He knew Tellie loved Killian, and he knew it was just for the simple fact he'd always been there for her, even through out the years that Louis had been heartless enough to flat out tell his daughter that he wasn't going to allow her to see her "uncle", Killian had always enclosed long detailed letters to Tellie with every birthday and Christmas present he sent her. And as years had past, Louis realised it was pointless trying to keep Killian away from Tellie.
"But Tellie doesn't even remember him..." Louis thought as he stared at the sleeping girl, biting his lip as he clicked to call Killian. "She'll understand..."
Louis held his phone to his ear, looking away from Tellie as he waited.
"Hey Killian," He drawled as the other end of the line was picked up. "Yeah it's Louis. I just wanted to tell you to stay the fuck out of my daughters life. And tell Marnie the same thing. I swear to god if you or her say another word or even text, Tellie, I will make sure she know's every little detail, about what you and Phoebe did. And then I guess after that she'll make sure you're out of her life herself."
Louis didn't wait for a reply, swiftly hanging up the phone. He looked to Tellie, still under the impression she was asleep, but Tellie lay there, wanting to gasp at what'd she heard. 'Cause from the moment the words had poured out of Louis' mouth, she seemed to remember everything; her mother dying, never nosing the truth, Louis' lying to her her whole life. And it astonished Tellie, how a couple of words could bring years of memories back like that.
"I just want books..." Tellie said bluntly, she wasn't sure if she could still read really, but somehow after hearing Louis last night more of her memory had came back. Which aggravated her over one simple fact: Louis hadn't even told her her own mother was dead.
"That's not exactly helpful Teej," Louis replied. "can j have a title or author?"
Tellie groaned. She honestly just wanted a way to get Louis out of here, so she came up with the simple plan to ask him to get a book from her room, which she was sure must have held heaps. She could remember the feeling of having words come of the pages and sink into her the way a sponge would soak up water.
"Um..." Tellie muttered. She didn't remember any titles of books or even characters. But somehow the the two names that came to her head was "Herondale" and "Harry Potter".
