"Whatever you are physically, male or female, strong or weak, ill or healthy-all those thing matter less than what your heart contains. If you have the soul of a warrior, you are a warrior. Whatever the colour, the shape, the design if the shade that conceals it, the flame inside the lamp remains the same. You are that flame." -Jem Carstairs, Clockwork Angel

That night I had a dream. I had a dream that instead of being me, I was a shadowhunter. I lived in the London institute and ended up marrying Will Herondale-After having a five year relationship with Jem. That was a good dream. Being someone else. I wish I was someone else.

As I laid in bed, the only thing I could think of was the new scar that was on my wrist. I'd managed to get of dad seeing it by covering it with liquid foundation, it just looked like the other scars which were faded but would never be completely gone. It's weird to think that. Years from now the same scars that cover my wrists will probably still be visible. A reminder of all the pain.

I rolled to the other side of the bed, sighing as my second alarm went off. I knew for a fact I wasn't going to school today. And I already texted Zach that I wasn't when my first alarm went off. I turned the alarm off, sighing at the texts from Xavier that filled my phone.

New text from: Xavier

What happened between you & Jessie?!? Can one of u bitches tell me?!?!

New text from: Xavier

Teeeeeeellllllllliiiiiieeeeee

New text from: Xavier

Teeeeeeeeeelllllllllllliiiiiiiiiiieeeeeee Jaaaaaaayyyyyyyydddddeeeee

New text from: Xavier

All your doing is turning me more and more off girls

New text from: Xavier

TEeeeeeeejaaaaaaaaaay

Xavier's texts were enough to send anyone nuts. I assumed Jessie would've told him about what went down yesterday. But I was wrong. Dead wrong.

I kicked my blanket off, hulling myself out of bed with a sluggish sigh. There's no point in going back to sleep now...

After changing into short shorts and an All Time Low sweatshirt, I found myself slowly walking down the staircase, my head against the wall, before entering the foyer, and sluggishly walking in the kitchen.

"Hi..." I mumbled, the tiredness obvious in my voice. Dad just stared at me for a moment while I got the box of coco pops from the cupboard.

"There's something you need to explain Cristell Jayde." He drawled. I bit my lip as I got a bowl and began tipping the cereal in.

He couldn't know I cut could he...?

Ugh of course he knew, he knows everything.

"I swear I won't do it again." I said instantly. "I was just upset and-"

"Um sweetie, why don't you let me finish." Dad cut in. I chewed on my lip, not even bothering to put the cereal away as I poured the milk, that was already on the bench in the bowl.

"I finished going through your report card." Dad continued.

Ah crap.

"You said you didn't care if I failed PE..." I replied while I sat at the bench.

"You didn't fail PE. You actually went pretty well in practical PE, but that letter I found in the bottom of your bag, was explaining that you never listen in PE theory."
