Evan
For the first time ever, I was shocked speechless. I couldn't help but think back to our childhood days together. I finally saw a glimpse of the same girl that always kept my in check back in the day.

Amberley's speech had added fuel to the fire she had set within me. I had a feeling it would burn me into oblivion with time.

"Freak," I heard a mutter. I spun around and glared at the source.

"Really, prick? Newsflash, she's stronger, kinder, and more extraordinary than we will ever be. When you all gossip about this later make sure to include my message: treat her with the respect she deserves or I will personally make your minds a pile of mush without even moving my fingers."

I felt like a hypocritical coward but the crowd seemed to understand and they scattered away from me and back to the locker rooms with worried expressions.

I turned to Coach Lawley and sent a glare his way. He only looked smug as he crossed his arms across his chest.

"What the hell, Coach? Why do you talk to her like that?" I demand, itching to throw a punch at him. He would probably beat me to a pulp.

"Why?" He asked.

I scoffed and raked my hand through my hair. "Yes, why?"

"Because with that extra boost, Amberley Da Ville is going to be a warrior. She's going to save the Altrus."

The rest of the day passed by in a blur. I kept a careful eye on the crowds and wondered how fast the news had spread about Amberley's speech. I hadn't seen her since the incident but I had caught word that she had entered my room and hadn't come out yet.

I felt relived she was safe but I was oddly desperate to go comfort her and see if she's okay. But then again, she hated me and she probably wanted space.

As I made my way to Alvar's class, two people fell into step besides me.

"Hey babe, how ya doin?" A prissy voice drawled. I felt a nail drag down my arm. Rene. I looked up and immediately felt disgusted at her presence. Her looks were fine, she was great in bed but her general personality was horrid. Besides her was Derrick Rose in the flesh. I scowled.

"What do you two low-lives want?"

They only smirked and Rene waded closer. I noticed she had cut her shirts neckline to make more of her nonexistent breast show. Not attractive.

"How's pretty lady doing? I heard she had physcotic breakdown in Lawley's. Sexy if you ask me, I dig crazies," Derrick taunted. I tuned him out. Hadn't I knocked him out only a few days before? He was barking up the wrong tree.

"She's crazy because she gets hit. She is quite a square so I'd see why someone would see her as a punching bag, poor girl. And last night!.. she's a sad soul," Rene says.

"What do you mean 'last night'? She was with me last night," I say cooly.

"Was she?"

"She came to the weapons room last night and we got the big scoop on how her father was a sadist and poor Amberley has a few scars on her back. Few... meaning like a thousand."

"Even sexier, I like it rough and she's used to being roughed up. Match made in heaven," Derrick says.

This ticks a nerve and I lunged at him. My hands connect with his chest and he goes flying backward. You're being stabbed over and over. Your nails are being ripped off one by one. Your balls are being chopped off.
