Amberley
I noticed a freckle above my brow for the first time in my whole life. Maybe I never looked in a mirror long enough to see it or maybe I just never looked but they're it was. My father couldn't have made that? At least a freckle of me is natural.I brushed my hair, a smile crawling its way onto my face. Evan's kisses seemed to have sparked something deep within me. For the first time ever, I felt like more than an empty shell.
Weeks had passed since I had bared everything to Evan, yet I still felt his gaze and his hands as he scrubbed away my impurities. He didn't try to do anything to me but kiss me but oddly enough, I nearly passed out every time he pressed his lips to mine.
Since my power outbreak, all my free time has been spent in Samara Valar's power room, trying to control the power within me. We had no such luck, the power from before seems to have gone into hiding.
I barely saw Evan anymore. Only brief kisses and touches as we passed each other through the halls and whenever I found myself having free time.
Unfortunately some Altru had fixed his room in less than a day so he had no excuse to stay in my new one. I missed him.
As I brushed my locks, I was startled by the rustling of feet outside my door. I picked up the dagger by my dresser. In the past weeks, I had improved immeasurably in Coaches training. I had even knocked some the best fighters on their butts.
My door slammed open and I was shocked to see Jeffery outside my door. His pale face was blotched red as if he had run all the way here. I raised my brow, placing the dagger back on my vanity.
"Dibs!" He screamed before proceeding to do a victory dance around my room. His red hair seemed like flame as he moved.
"Excuse me?"
"Dibs!" I heard another voice call from outside my room. A hand came shooting through the air and latched onto my wrist. I saw nobody attached to it. Stretchy Jackson. Jeff slapped the hand and it flew back to his body.
Jackson came lurking in, a scowl on his face.
"I already called dibs!" Jeffery said.
I narrowed my eyes. What was this all about? Just as I got ready to question the boys, two more came bursting into my room.
Evan and Eli were pushing each other about like they were wrestling with each other in training. They rolled into the floor and found themselves grappling in front of my feet.
Evan looked up at me from the floor and flashed me a grin that made my insides melt. I had missed that smile. His blonde hair was messy and long as if he hadn't cut it a while.
"Dibs!" He yelled before clamping a hand on my ankle. He smirked as he let a finger trace up my leg seductively. I scowled and jerked away, kicking him in the chest on accident.
"What is this about?" I demanded. The four boys looked at me and all smiled. It was so creepy. Evan rubbed his chest where I had kicked him.
"The battle of the corridors is today! We need a partner and we've heard rumors you've become one of the best fighters here!" Jeff exclaimed.
I was confused. Battle of the corridors? Was there a war I wasn't aware about?
"Heard the rumors? I just knocked you on your ass yesterday, Jeff!"
