Amberley

Three days had past without a word. Joshua had placed three people outside my door to make sure no one came in and I didn't go out and they did just that.

I was too tired to argue with him. I was too
tired to do anything. My chest burned and that feeling that Evan was hiding something had returned with a vengeance. Was he hiding something about Rene? The thought makes me see red.

On the third day of my bed rest, I had had enough. Despite the burning pain, I pulled myself up and out of my bed. I deserved to be a part of whatever was happening. I needed to know if my friends were alright.

Without looking in the mirror, I pulled a brush through my snarled hair and pulled a t-shirt over my head. My wound pulled and stretched as my arms lifted. It was still healing internally despite being all healed internally. Where the hell was Eli?

I groaned. This was not going to be easy.

Once I was as presentable, I pulled on a pair of tennis shoes and pulled open my door. I was lightheaded and wobbly on my feet but I couldn't miss the worried expressions on my "guards" faces.

"Amberley, Joshua says you should stay here," one of them says. He's a scrawny brown haired kid.

"I don't care what Joshua says. I've been lying around like a vegetable for too long."

They grimace and block my exit. "You were just stabbed in the chest like five days ago."

"And?"

"And...you were just stabbed in the chest like five days ago."

"I went from Princess to Altru in less that two days... what are you saying?" I sneer and try to step past them but they block me once again. I keep my anger down to boiling level, careful not to let it overflow.

"Look, I don't care what anyone says, one of my friends could be dead. Be a good boy and let me through."

They shake there heads and gesture back to my room. I close my eyes, barely holding on to my temper. I raise my hands and hum a low note before throwing my hands slightly at the two boys.

They fall back under my power and fall unconscious on the stone floor. I make sure to remember to apologize for that later.

I wipe my hands on my pants and make my way along Clandestine's halls. My heart was beating hard against my rib cage and my chest was on fire.

I walked past Evans room and was surprised to find it ajar. I peaked inside to find it empty and vacant. I closed it behind me as I left. He must have left in a hurry.

My mind was racing and I felt insanely dizzy. Before I knew it, I heard commotion around the corner.

I walked into chaos. My eyes widened as I took in the sight before me. About twelve men where trying to restrain one man. I caught sight of blonde hair. Evan...

"Stop! Let him go," I muster as confidently as I possible could. Apparently it worked because the men backed away, leaving a fuming Evan in there wake.

I furrowed my eyebrows as he regarded me coldly. I didn't like this Evan. Something had happened... something really bad. I took an involuntarily step backward.
