I must be going insane. Here I am, holding the person I hate the most against my chest, smelling her lavender scented hair. And I enjoyed it. What... the... fuck?!

As soon as the sun rose, I didn't waste a minute to shove the sleeping princess away and stand up shakily. She rolled onto her face with a grunt. Oh well.

The air was still brisk but as I looked up, the sky peeking through the canopy of trees was no longer white but instead a magnificent blue. Like Amberley's eyes. Wait what?

I decided to strip out of my heavy furs and shoot past the trees. My wings were stiff from days of not flying but soon, I was coasting and floating like the sky was my home. As I looked down, I saw Vex in the distance. We would leave as soon as everyone was well rested and awake.

I flew for hours, taking in the aura of freedom and fresh air. I figured by the time I made it back, my friends would be awake. But I was still flustered from Amberley and didn't trust myself around Sterbitch. I was afraid that if I saw his face, I would rip it right off. The way he talked about Amberley and Taylor made me... livid.

I landed a ways away from our camp and sat against a tree. I sighed contently. Flying always made me feel better. I picked up a nice piece of wood. I decided to carve little trinkets for the girls of the group, as thanks for accompanying me on this journey. They liked sentimental shit like that.

It took me a few minutes to carve a small hair bow for Betty. A few more time to carve a flame for Taylor. Then was a heart with Jasmine and I's name carved in the center.

An hour later, the three trinkets were finished and I had a extra piece of wood left. I was suddenly conflicted. Should I make Amberley something?

I pinned my decision on boredom and got to work. I gauged the size of Amberley's slim finger and carved until my fingers cramped. Another thirty minutes passed and soon, in the palm of my hand was a ring. The ring was shaped like a royal crown.

I furrowed my eyebrow at the object. Would this be too sentimental? That spoiled royal bitch probably wouldn't even like it. I grunted and shoved it into my pocket with the rest of the girls' gifts.

As I stood to fly back to my group, I heard a scream. My body tensed and my hand flew to the dagger I had just put away... my body was instantly tense and ready for battle.

My friends were in trouble. I heard a crash in the distance and a grunt. The commotion grew louder as I lurked forward, careful to keep my movements silent. Something was wrong... off.

What could be happening? Were the Vex attacking thinking we were invaders? I strained my ears to listen. If that were the case then I had to get there quick to stop them.

"Touch her again, you bastard, I dare you!" A male voice echoed. Micah.

"You are the bastard, Micah Valentino... and a traitor. Your father said you would be here..." a unfamiliar voice said.

I edged closer. So these people worked for the Iniquitous? I could tell they weren't Unfeeling just by the way he unknown man talked... with such conviction and intimidation.

"Besides...we are not here for you. We're here for the princess. You are a image, little girl. Maybe my men and I will takes turns with you before we follow our orders. I'm sure you wouldn't mind, you've been with a Iniquitous associate before. I'm talking about you Sterling," the man said.
