Sterling
For the first time, I noticed my brother really was gone. I couldn't believe it. He would leave a world of power for a mediocre mafia?
I also haven't seen my mother since I've been here. I'm sure I'll run into her sooner or later. Preferably later.
Just as I was about to leave my room to train, Leon burst into my room. I had immediately found a spy of my own to scan the countryside for any signs of Clandestine escapees. Leon was a scrappy, gullible teenager. Perfect for the job.
"Sterling sir, I just can't believe it," he gasped out.
I cocked an eyebrow and walked a little closer. My curiosity was peaked.
"I saw her!" He stumbled. I furrowed my eyebrows and gripped Leon by his collar and gave him a good shake.
"Saw who, Leon?" I demanded.
"I saw the princess! I saw Amberley Da Ville!" He said.
I scoffed and shoved him away from me. "You're a idiot. The princess is dead!"
Leon shook his head intensely. "No sir! I saw he with my own eyes. Black hair, god-like face, sky blue eyes!"
I looked away from the boy. It couldn't be true. Amberley was dead. I'm sure of it.
"Who was she with?" I questioned.
"A group of about eight or so. Looked like your brother was with them and the Vex's son."
I slammed my fist into the wall. "If I go after them and you're wrong, I will personally kill you Leon!"
The kid was shaking in his shoes. He shook his head again violently. "I'm sure of it, sir."

If Amberley really was out there, with the Vex, then everything was ruined. I had sacrificed her, sacrificed my love only to find it thrown back in my face.
My father would kill me for this. I had failed.
The trip to his office chambers was a long one. My chambers seemed to be separated and in a secluded part of the castle like mansion the Iniquitous and their allies stayed.
It took me a good ten minutes to finally find my destination. I didn't knock as I entered.
My father was bent over a stack of papers, engulfed in whatever he was reading. He didn't notice me until I was standing in front of his desk.
"What is it Sterling?" He asked dryly. I furrowed my brows. It felt so odd being called my real name so casually, wrong somehow.
"I have news."
"What ever news you have, I already have it son..." he responded.
"Did you let Micah leave?"
He finally looked at me. I didn't see a fathers gaze, only a unforgiving, blank stare.
"Micah was not pleased at the situation and acted irrationally. I will not retrieve him if that's what you're asking. He made his decision and now he will die with the rest of his so called 'family'..." he said.
