Chapter 8

(Normal POV)
Just as Shadow was to put the finishing blow on the vampire that was attacking Sonic. A scream scared the two, making them look over at the frightened teen. Sonic backed up, turning into a run. The second vampire headbudded Shadow off of him, running away. The vampire ran in a different then the frightened teen. Shadow, now Sonic knows what she is, groaned as she chased after him. She had to find him, to make sure he was alright.

'Geez, how did he get so far?' Shadow thought to herself, she dodged trees, until Sonic was in her sight. Shadow cut off Sonic, only for him to scream.

"Get away from me! You're a monster!" Sonic screamed at her, turning to run the other way.

"Sonic wait! I can explain! Just stop!" Shadz managed to grab his shirt and pull him back.

"Let go!" Sonic shoved and ripped away from her, causing the both of them to fall. Sonic was on the bottom, as Shadow fell ontop of him, knocking the breath out of him.

"Jesus Sonic! I'm not going to hurt you! I don't drink human blood!" Shadow struggled to hold Sonic down. She was trying to convince the teen that she doesn't drink human blood. Yet he continued to squirm underneath her, terrified. "Sonic.. Please believe me... I... I'll leave you alone for now on, if that's what you want.. Just..." Sonic tensed underneath Shadow, reaching up to rest his hand on her cheek. He showed a pain expression. "What..?"

"I.. I don't want that.." Sonic looked away, sighing, dropping his hand. "A..Are you sure you won't hurt me...?" Shadow was shocked, she wasn't expecting Sonic to come around this quickly.

"Ye-Yeah.. It's something I can't really explain." Shadow started to push off of him, brushing her hair back. "It's this weird connection thi-" Sonic grabbed both of her arms and pulling her close. Sonic pulled her close, kissing her. Shadow froze, her eyes wide in shock. Sonic pulled away.

"S-Sorry, I-I just thought-" Shadow shushed him, pulling him back into a kiss. Sonic melted into the kiss, not giving a care about the world. This felt right to him, like he's been waiting a lifetime. Shadow broke the kiss, both of them blushing. "Heh.. That was the best kiss I ever had." Shadow smirked, laughing.

"Oh.. So you're not a virgin" Sonic just smiled at her, acting innocent. Shadow flinched slightly, Sonic touched one of the healing wounds she got from the fight. "I bet your brother is worried, You should go home."

"But-" Shadow covered his mouth.

"Don't tell anyone about what you saw here. I'll be fine." She kissed his forehead. "Or I will have to kill you." Sonic gulped when he saw she was serious. Shadow smiled before collapsing next to him, her eyes stared past him.

"Shadow?" Sonic shock her shoulder, trying to wake her up. Something told him that she was fine, like a little voice. Sonic thought to himself for a second, before he picked her up. Parts of her skin was hot, from the wounds. They were still healing, so that was a sign that she was still 'alive'.

Sonic slowly made it back to her house, carrying shadow on his back. Sonic panted as he made it in through the front door. Mephiles was talking with someone just as they walked in. Shadow's brother looked over, gasping.

"What happened to her?!" Mephiles shoved past whoever he was taking to.

"She got in a fight with another vampire.." Mephiles was shocked, causing Sonic to sigh. "But she's alright.."

"He's right Meph. She'll be fine." A feminine voice said, footsteps following. "Long time no see Sonic." Sonic gasp, as his eyes widen.

"Rouge...?" The new female, now known as Rouge, tilted her head to the side, giggling.

(Sonic's POV)

"Rouge?! I-I thought you were dead!" Mephiles took Shadow off my back, as she groaned. Rouge just smiled, resting her hands on her hips.

"Well you have one thing right. I am dead." She laughed slightly. "Sorry about that love."
"Wait.. You're a vampire too?..." She was a vampire... When did this happen?... How did I not know?

"Yep. Going on 2000 year's too!" Rouge held out her arms, expecting me to hug her.

"Why..." Rouge looked at me with a shocked expresion.

"Huh?" I slapped her hand away, as she stared at me.

"I want to go home.. I'll get lost if I try to go on my own.." Turning away from her, I heard Rouge walk away. Why didn't she tell me?... She was my best friend, and she lied to me. I can't believe her..

~At Sonic's house~

"Hey Sonic... You okay?" Tails said as I walked in.

"Oh. Yeah. I'm okay. Just a little out of it." I sighed, ruffling his hair. I just want this weekend to be over with..

So to recap a few things, I guess my girlfriend now, is a vampire, and my used to be bestfriend is too. Great. This quiet town has vampires in it.. Wait. So that means all those deaths were caused by vampires?... If Shadow isn't the one behind this, then which one?...

Scourge... I-I remember. Scourge a vampire too! He was the one that attacked me.. Is he the one behind the murders? Oh god, is he going to come after me?!

"Sonic?..." Tails voice appeared behind me, "Whoa. Sorry there.. Didn't mean to make you jump.. What's got you so jumpy?"

"N-No. I'm fine. Just forgot about.. Something." Tails gave me a weird look. I tried to play it off, but Tails was too suspicious. "Just leave already, I gotta get ready for tomorrow. School remember?" Finally, he left me alone. My mind was so fuzzy right now.. I could barely keep my thoughts together. Maybe after a hot shower and some sleep, I can finally think better. Yeah.. I just need to think..

~ The Next day, morning~

It felt like something was next to me in bed, and I know I went to sleep alone last night..

Groaning, I managed to turn on the lap, on the nightstand. Something cold pressed against me, freaking me out. I didn't know what it was, until it started to move. Slowly turning, I found two piercing red eyes staring down at me. Nearly falling out of my bed, I cursed silently.

"What the hell Shadow?!" Shadow shushed me, smiling lightly. "How did you even get in here?.." I whispered.

"Window." She said, pointing over to it. I just sighed, as she shifted over.

"Of course." I just sighed, looking at the clock. "Ugh... what are you doing here at four in the morning...?"

"I had to make sure you were okay." Shadow said as she played with my hair. I could only laugh at her, as she crawled on top of me.

"You do know that we have school in a few hours, right?" Shadow shrugged, smiling.

"Uh...Sonic, are you awak-" Tails froze in the door, staring at us. "Umm.. I'll leave you guys alone.." Tails shut my door, walking away. Great. Just embarrassed myself infront of my brother.
