Chapter 11

(Sonic's POV)

For some reason, I felt uneasy today at school. Shadow and Mephiles were in a different class, and I had Scourge in my class. It was his first day back, and he was quiet. He's never this quiet. Scourge usually flirts with everything in a skirt, and with some guys. So he must be a omega.. He must be the murder.. I couldn't pay attention at all, not with him here..

Class ended, and with it the end of school, I rushed to my locker, feeling like he was right behind me..

"Hey Sonic." Scourge's voice appeared behind me, sending chills down my spine.He laughed at how tense I was. Slowly, I turned around. Man... He looked tired.

"Oh.. Hey Scourge.." Scourge leaned against the locker next to me.

"I know you know what I am. Along with your girlfriend." Scourge had dark circles under his eyes. "I'm sorry that I attacked her a few weeks back."

"Uh. N-no, It's okay.." I sighed, "How come you were gone for so long anyway?"

"I've been hunting for the killer.." Scourge yawned as he scratched his face. I couldn't look away from him... His eyes just pulled me in.. "And with the laws, food supplies been low for us." Scourge whispered, looking around. "Anyway.." Scourge handed me a small bag. "Give this to Shadz. It's a peace treaty." Scourge smiled, causing me to blush for some reason, and walked away. I stood there, captivated. God dammit.. I know he's a omega.. Freaking charmer..

So Scourge isn't the murder?... But who else could it be.. How many vampires live in this town?!

"Sonic? You okay?" Silver's voice scared me.

"Oh, yeah. I'm okay. Just dazed.." Silver sighed, helping me pack up my stuff.

"Yeah. Been happening a lot lately. Are you sure you okay?.. You're worrying me.." Silver's voice was filled with concern. I couldn't help but smile at her.

"Yeah. Just a lot happen lately. I'll be fine." I never knew I was affecting her like this. Well she is my best friend. I just didn't want to drag her into this, but she brought herself into. I notice how much more Mephiles is talking with her. Wait... Does this mean Silver is Mephiles mate? He never told me who it was.. And they seem to be getting closer.. Oh god.

"Well.. I'm gonna hang out with Mephiles today at the mall. So I guess you're going to Shadz house today?" For some reason, that stung. I shouldn't care, but she's like a sister to me. I swear, if Mephiles does anything to her. I don't care if he's a vampire, I will take him on.

"Heh. Yeah. We might hang out for awhile." Silver smiled, looking at the bag in my hand.

"What you got there?" Silver was confused.

"Scourge gave it to me, for Shadz..." I smiled at her, and held tightly onto the bag. I haven't even looked inside, so I wasn't going to let her look in yet. I still wonder what he would of gave her. I saw Mephiles walking up, looking at me. I saw his eyes turn into slits as he coughed. He took in a long breath and sighed. He kept staring at the bag. Great, Scourge gave me blood. It had to be. He would react like this if it was something else.

"My sister should be out soon. She got held up by the teacher." Mephiles said, taking his focus off the bag. I nodded, and hide the bag behind my back, but Mephiles still looked uncomfortable. Mephiles set a hand on Silver's shoulder, causing her to look up to him. "Ready to go yet?" Silver just smiled and nodded. They walked off, as I sighed. I was gonna have a talk with him, when I see him. I know that must be his mate, but still.. I guess it's okay.. It's just weird. I know the secret of these guys and yet, one of them is wanting to date my best friend.. Wait, aren't I just doing that?... God dammit..

I waited outside for Shadz, it wasn't long before she appeared behind me. She leaned in close, kissing my neck. I couldn't help but smile, and pulled her close.

"So what happened with the teacher?" Shadow just rolled her eyes. I couldn't help but chuckle.

"She held me back just for something stupid." Shadow sighed, as she held on my arm. I wanted to wait till we got back to her house, to give her that blood. But seriously, is the scent of this blood different? They never acted like that before.

Once we got home, I gave her that blood. As soon as she smelled the blood, Shadow had most of it gone already. I was still confused, how different was this blood?

(Mephiles' POV)
I really did try to enjoy my day out with Silver, but I felt off. That blood Sonic had wasn't normal.. And it's weird that Scourge gave it to him. I mean he wasn't the most trustful.. It just felt weird. But I was just worrying too much.

That's what I thought until I got a panicked call from Sonic. He was talking so fast, I didn't understand what he was say.

"Sonic. Calm down.. Take a deep breath." I said, Sonic obeying. Silver just looked up at me, scared. "Now.. Tell me whats wrong. Slowly."

"I think Shadow's dying." Sonic said. "She's super weak and keeps throwing up blood." I froze in my tracks.. Oh god.

"Mephiles... What's wrong?" Silver concerned. I didn't know what to say to her.

"I... I gotta get home.." Quickly turning to the exit. "You can get the driver to take you home. I need to get home now. I bolted out of the mall, shoving people out of my way. I knew something was wrong.

I felt bad for leaving Silver alone, but still, I had to save my sister.

I ran as fast as I could, through the woods to our house. My clothes were getting tattered up by branches, and bushes I cut through. Nothing mattered right now. I couldn't lose my sister.
After bursting through the door, I found Sonic panicking. Running to the nearest bathroom, I found Shadow collapsed on the ground.

"Shadow?!" I gently picked her up, resting her head on my lap. She just groaned, blood dripping from her mouth. She had very dark circles under her eyes, and sweating. She could barely lift her head, let alone speak.

"W... Were....wolf... blood." Shadow managed out. Dammit.. That's why it was messing with our sense... And she had a very lethal dose of it. Hopefully she got most of it out, we just got to wait it out. She won't die, but if anything attacks her, she'll die from it. No way could she protect herself.

"W-What's wrong with her?" Sonic mumbled out. He'll think it's his fault if I tell him.

"She... She's gonna be okay. Werewolf blood is just really lethal to us. But thankfully she got it out of her system.. Shadow won't be at school for a little while." Gently, I lifted her up, carrying her to bed. Sonic followed, and Shadow slept. She groaned every now and then. I just sighed, thinking that this was all Scourges fault. The next time I see him, I'll tear off his head.

I just held Shadow's hand, lowering my head. I kept telling myself that she'll be okay. That this is nothing. I tried to convice Sonic that she is okay. But to be honest, I don't know.
