"Ohmygod." A voice greets me and I groan.
"Calum? Ohmygod." I open my eyes, and my vision is blurred, the daylight making my eyes burn.
I then realize that it's Lacie, and I turn around on the couch to see her. She's snuggled up into the couch, under the blanket and comfortable. But her eyes are wide.
"What's wrong?" I ask, my voice raspy from sleep.
"Am I in the bus?" She asks. I nod, blinking a few times as my vision clears.
"M-My parents! They're gonna kill me." She says, starting to get up.
"No. They know. They think you're staying at some friends house." I say, stopping her.
"How? You don't have their numbers." She says slowly, relaxing a little.
"Um.." I start.
"You hacked into my phone!" She starts laughing.
I smile and nod. Lai just shakes her head amusedly, a small smile still lighting up her features.
"It's alright." I assure her, sitting up.
"I woke you up. I'm sorry Cal, I-" she says quietly.
"It's fine Lai, what time is it?" I ask.
She picks up her phone which is beside her and turns it on."Shit!" She curses, standing up.
"What?" I say, a panicked expression crossing her face.
"I need to go." She says quickly folding up the blanket and grabbing her phone. She runs up to me, hugging me. She moves back to go, but I grasp her wrist and pull her back.
"What's wrong?" I ask, concerned.
"I have a flight. My parents are letting me fly back because today is my best friends birthday and I don't want to not be there for her." She says, taking a deep breath.
"It's the day before, there in America right?" I ask, tilting my head.
"Yeah, but it's a long flight. I'll be there right after lunch." She replies.
I think for a second.
"Let us come with you. We can get tickets too, and surprise her." A bright smile crosses my face. She shakes her head. "No! I don't want you to do that. You would have to travel and everything-" she starts.
"We travel a lot, Lai. Plus, I wanna come." I say honestly.
"But you need a break. I don't want to take that away from you." She says, her voice small.
I laugh, standing up. "Look, I wanna come. Like, genuinely. I wanna meet your best friend and see your hometown. Please? If the boys don't wanna stay for a while then they can go back the next day." I say, the plan forming in my head.
"Are you sure?"
"Of course. I can go ask the guys and you tell your parents. We can grab your stuff on the way." I walk out of the game room, running to go ask the guys.
"It's too early." Luke groans as I wake him up, along with the other two grumpy ones.
"You guys are coming to Colorado with me and Lacie to surprise her best friend for her birthday. Get up, let's go." I say excitedly.
"What the fuck man, I know you wanna marry her and shit but-" Michael says, his voice husky. I slap him upside the head.
"Shut up, get up." I say, and Ashton's already up and practically bouncing around excitedly. He shoots a bright smile toward me.
