"You're not leaving me. I'm serious." Delilah whines. Her hand is clinging to my sweatshirt, trying to pull me back down onto the couch so that I'll continue watching Criminal Minds with her.
"No! It's getting late and I told you, I'm gonna go see the boys at practice."
"Oh come on, you see him all the time. You're staying at your boyfriend's flat place for..how long?" She wiggles her eyebrows.
"He's not my boyfriend, again," I utter. "And I don't know how long."
"Exactly. Never leave L.A.""We'll see about that. I think I'm already getting tired of you."
"We just became best friends!"
"Exactly. You're already saying we're best friends." I tease.
"Come on, it's like 9:30 already. They probably went home. Plus, we can just go tomorrow." She reasons. I guess she's right. I shouldn't bother them.
"Fine." I give in, joining her on the couch again. Delilah yelps excitedly, pressing play on Netflix again. After what feels like a thousand episodes of watching awful people get caught and thrown in prison, my phone chimes.
"It's Calum! I repeat, it's Calum!" Delilah screams. She scrambles for the remote and slams her finger down on the pause button.
"Calm down. The way you're acting makes me think you like him or something," I grin. She scrunches up her face in disgust.
"Please. He's a brother to me."
"Incest." I joke and shrug my shoulders, picking my phone up. She can't hide the shocked expression on her face."We aren't in Alabama, Lacie! You're going to hell for that." I laugh, unlocking my phone and checking the texts.
Calum-1:20 am: Dreaming of me?
Delilah roars with laughter.
"Oh my god! He's awful at flirting!" She yells.
My heart flutters a bit, but I send her a frown.
"He wasn't flirting." I say, and Delilah goes silent. "What?"
"You're oblivious. This is obviously the reason you two aren't together yet," She sighs. "Calum's good at everything except texting, and you're completely oblivious. You should be glad I'm here."
"Why am I so glad you're here, Del?"
"Because I can help you." She points out, stealing my phone from my hands. She quickly types something, and I hear the message sending noise. "There." She says, handing the phone back to me.
Me-1:23 am: Of course I am ;)
Oh god. My face turns bright red with embarrassment. I can't believe she sent that. A few seconds later, my phone goes off again.
Calum-1:23 am: Hey Delilah.
Now it's my turn to start crying with laughter. Delilah's the one to turn red, letting out a huff and grabbing my phone.
Me-1:24 am: Ugh! Screw you, Cal!
Calum-1:24 am: Love you too.
"I'm going to sleep." Delilah grumbles, throwing my phone back to me and turning around. She curls up in the blanket. I laugh loudly, muttering a 'goodnight' and picking my phone up.
Me-1:25 am: She went to bed. I hope you enjoyed that
Calum-1:25 am: I did. She'll forgive me by tomorrow.
Me-1:25 am: Right
Calum-1:25 am: Did you have a good day today?
I smile at my phone, leaning down and snuggling farther into the pull-out couch.
