At exactly 4:58, I look up from my phone to see Lacie coming down the hallway. Having ditched my hoodie which is in her hands, she's now wearing a pair of black jean shorts and a light grey crop top, her black swimsuit peeking out near her collarbones. I tuck my phone into my pocket and open the front door, gesturing for her to go through the door first.
"After you, gorgeous." I look down at her, confidence gleaming in my brown eyes. She blushes furiously, stopping in front of me and holding out my hoodie.
"Thanks but, I think this is yours." She tells me and hands me the hoodie.
"Aw, don't be sad, you'll probably get it back at some point." I tell her, placing my hand on her lower back and guiding her out the door. "I'll bring it with us and keep it in the car, just in case."
I turn up the radio after opening the passenger door for Lacie and getting in on the driver's side. Babylon is playing, and Lacie bursts into laughter. I get flustered, a slight blush crossing my cheeks as I rush to pause the song.
"No! Cal, thats hilarious, you're listening to your own music on your own personal time?" She asks through bouts of laughter, calming down and placing a hand on my arm.
"I-I like the song, okay?" I reply defensively, pouting lightly. She smiles softly.
"I think it's cute," she says thoughtfully, smirking and turning back on the song. "Now drive!"
I do as she told me to, starting the car and backing out of the driveway. I start to hum the song as Lacie belts out the lyrics, doing crazy dances at the guitar parts. A teasing smile lingers on my face as I join her. She stops, gazing at me in awe. I stop too, glancing from her to the road.
"Uh, huh?" I ask Lai confusedly as Babylon finishes and More starts playing through the radio. She shakes her head, snapping out of her daze and I finally put two and two together in my head. "Oh, I understand now. I know I'm beautiful. No need to stare."
"I wasn't staring!" Lacie tells me, pouting and looking out the window.
"You were. I saw you. With my own eyes. Take a picture, it'll last longer." I shoot her a wink before placing my eyes back on the road.
"I have enough pictures of you, thank you very much." She snaps teasingly. I roll my eyes.
"Yeah, right. The girls in my lane need them, I bet. Everyone in the 5sos fandom needs them. Who wouldn't want to see me?" Lacie's mouth falls open in awe once again when I conclude my comeback. She turns to me and smacks my arm. I yelp, purposely swerving the car lightly. Then, I start laughing. "THAT'S HOW ALL THE GIRLS NOT IN MY LANE FEEL WHEN A PICTURE IS POSTED OF ME." I scream, referring to my swerving.
"You know what mister, listen to me. Stop taking Calum girls for granted. As a Calum girl myself, I will proudly say that it is hard. It's extremely difficult being a Calum girl. You gotta give us credit. We constantly wanna smash our head against a wall because of you. Everyone else swerves to our lane and wants to crawl in a hole and dig themselves a grave because it is h-a-r-d. In conclusion, appreciate them, boy. We take a lot of shit from you, you should be glad we're still alive. Rant over." She concludes proudly. Lacie smirks at my silence, turning up the radio to start screaming the lyrics to Empty Wallets. Honestly, I have no comment to that. I guess I never thought about how they feel. Damn, okay.
