Lacie's POV

My eyes flitter open, trying to adjust to the bright sunlight. I slowly start remember everything that happened last night, explaining why I'm currently in Calum's room with his left arm loosely draped over my waist. He's laying on his stomach, faced toward me. His dark curls are splayed out everywhere. A smile lingers on my lips and I reach out to run my fingers over his tanned skin. I pull my arm back quickly, like I'm touching fire when he groans, pushing his face further into his pillow. I bite my lip and my smile widens.

It's weird when I think about it, how much my life has changed since the concert in Denver. It's cheesy, yeah, but now I know Calum. I know Calum Hood, and the rest of his band like we're best friends.

I guess we kind of are best friends.

A few years ago I never would've had a thought in my mind that I'd be in Los Angeles, in Calum Hood's room, him next to me sleeping peacefully.

I never would've thought my dad would be in heaven either, though.

Since the incident happened, I haven't felt complete. My whole life, I've woken up to always having a plan for the day, thanks to my dad who never wants to sit inside all day. He was too restless, never wanted to be alone. So I'd always keep him company despite the endless amounts of cringey dad jokes and puns. Now that he's gone, I haven't really had that.

This morning, though, I feel, okay. I don't wake up with a burning sensation in my stomach, due to the endless nightmares that occurred every night since the incident. I don't have tears stinging my eyes, threatening to spill over. I'm okay. I feel, happier.

I don't want this feeling to go away.

"Lacie? Dude thats crazy creepy, she sleeps with her eyes open!" I hear a voice snap me out of my thoughts and I turn to face a now conscious Calum. He jumps back, wide eyed. "Oh. You're actually awake. Thinking about me?"

"In your dreams, hot shot." I shoot back. Calum smirks, turning over to stretch.

"You were in my dreams." He tells me, his voice husky.

Pfft, I remember when I used to daydream about waking up next to him, about being able to hear his morning voice. Guess those dreams are fulfilled.

An involuntary shiver runs down my spine. He notices and his smirk widens, registering the affect he has on me.

"Sorry to bother you, I won't talk in the morning then." Calum says sassily, reading my mind. I roll my eyes, sitting up.

"Shut up, Cal pal."

"Not a chance, Lai pie." He sniggered, climbing off the bed and turning toward me. "I'll go make breakfast, you go get ready and pack your stuff up. We're gonna move to my flat today because today's the last day this place has been rented for us."

I nod, following behind him but turning the opposite way toward the guest bedroom.

Does this mean I get to meet Duke?

Cal's POV

"Are you done yet? You gotta be finished. How much longer? Are you done yet? I'm hungry. How's Duke? How's Petunia or South? South is cute. I miss Michael. Are you done yet?"

"Love, calm down," I tell the overexcited brunette that's spinning happily in her chair. "It's almost done."

"I'mmmmmm annnoyyyiiinnngggg!!" Lacie sings loudly, shooting me a quick smile as she locks eyes with me for a second before shes spinning again. I snort, turning back to the stove. She's been at this for 5 minutes now, asking me how much longer until I'm done cooking. She got ready quite quickly, since she didn't have to do much to make her look more stunning than she already was, so Lai got down here quickly, bags in hand. I haven't felt annoyed by her in the slightest, despite her words. It's nice to have constant company, because Ash isn't around all the time. He has a life too. Yeah, Lacie has a life, but she doesn't live in Los Angeles, so she doesn't really know anyone but the boys, Crystal, and I. I'm glad she's hanging out with me.
