The Subtitute Wife

Chapter 12

Adrianna POV

Tatlong araw na ang nakakalipas simula nung nanggaling kami sa nakakatakot na pangmayaman na subdivision. Ang naalala ko lang nun ay matinding sakit ng ulo na naramdaman ko habang na sa kotse pa kami ni Adam tapos nagblackout na yung paningin ko. The next thing I knew nung nagising ako ay nasa bahay na ulit kami ni Adam at natutulog sa kwarto nya. Hindi na namin ulit napag usapan yung bagay na ipapakita sana nya sakin.

Nagluluto ako ng lunch ngayon para saming tatlo; ako, si Adam at si Thomas. Apparently laging nasa mansyon si Thomas at si Adam naman ay hindi pa din pumapasok sa office hanggang ngayon. Kaya may pakiramdam akong meron silang di sinasabi sakin.

Biglang pumasok sa kusina si Adam, tuloy tuloy sya papuntang pwesto ko at niyakap ako habang nakatalikod. "Wife, aren't you done cooking? I'm so hungry."

Gustong gusto ko syang batukan kasi kada 5 mins. papasok sya dito sa kitchen just to ask kung tapos na ako magluto, pero pinigil ko ang sarili ko. Tahimik ko lang na hinahalo yung niluluto ko.

Naramdaman nya siguro na kanina pa ako tahimik, kaya bumitaw sya sa pag kakayakap at pumunta sa side ko. Nakaharap nya lang ako tinititigan.

"What's wrong?" Sabi nya ng malumanay na boses. Pero mas pinili kong hindi sya panisinin, ewan ko. May kakaiba akong topak ngayong araw, mainit ang ulo ko pero di ko alam kung bakit, alam ko malayo pa buwanang dalaw ko dahil naka sulat na sa sched ko yun. Kaya di ko maintindihan kung bakit parang pikon na pikon ako sa kanya, pati na rin kay Thomas.

Pinatay ko na ang kalan at tinalikudan ko sya para kunin ang mga plato na pag lalagyan ng niluto ko.

"Come on Adrianna. What's bothering you?" Nakasunod nyang tanong sakin.

Pero bago pa man sya makalapit sakin ay tinignan ko na sya.

King Adam POV

I don't know what's happening to her but her mood's changing as days passes by.

It all start when she woke up after I brouht her to my hideout. No, I think it all started after she got ambushed and almost killed by the men of my enemy.

Thomas still convincing me to bring Adrianna to a Psychiatrist, of course I'll eventually bring her but now is not the right time.

I have to make a momentum to tell her, that we need her to see a psychiatrist, I don't know what will be her reaction that's why I am being precocious to open that topic.

"Come on Adrianna. What's bothering you?"

I asked her as I followed her. Her silence bothering me all through out this morning. I'm not used of her not talking to me, not even glancing. I'm so worried that I do things that hurt her again.

Before I go make near her she look at me, she never looked at me like this before. Like if I touch her she might do things that's beyond out of her control.

I feel like my mouth went dry for a second and there's lamps in my throat as I gulped.

"Pumunta ka na ng dining area. Susunod ako." She said without breaking eye contact to me.

"I-I'll help you." I nervously said to her, it sounded more of asking than stating.

"Adam, just do what I say. Now go." She sound so authoritative that I can't even compliant.

But my mind said something that I wanted to do it right now. So I crossed the space between us and grab her and hug her tight. She stiffs for a while like she was not expecting that I do that.

I hug her as if she will run away from me. I'm so damn scared right now, I feel like she will leave me at any moment.

"I just wanted to say, I'll never leave you." I kiss her temple before I let her go from my hug.
