"Where's Mommy?"
"She'll be back soon." I had to fight to keep my voice from cracking. My son looked up at me with stormy gray eyes, just like his mother.
As for his mother, she was called to Camp Half-Blood and I was left here to watch our son. Two days ago I got an Iris Message from Chiron that said something I never wanted to hear. Annabeth was missing. She never made it to camp and she seemed to be completely gone. Not a trace. The only thing that kept me here was the fact that I couldn't leave our son with anyone else and I still clung to the hope that she would return.
I finished tucking in my child and he looked up at me. "Good night, Daddy." He smiled grimly. Even he was feeling the effects of Annabeth being gone.
"Good night, Lucas." I closed the door and walked into the living room where my boy couldn't hear me.
Using a glass of water and a lamp, I made a rainbow and tossed in a drachma. "Oh goddess, accept my offering. Annabeth Chase." I spoke and placed my hands together, hoping, praying that it would get through. That I could see her again. Gods I just wanted to see her again.
The mist shimmered and showed a static filled image of Annabeth running through streets pursued by hellhounds before it crashed and knocked out the water and lamp.
I stood and hit the lamp causing it to crash on the floor. I couldn't stand not being with her when she needed me. I sat back on the couch and placed my head in my hands and let the tears fall.
Sobs filled the room for gods knows how long before there was a soft knock on the door of our house.
"Come in." I called.
"Percy? Any news?" Thalia walked into my house and softly closed the door.
I simply shook my head as sobs wracked my body. The couch sagged as she took a seat beside me and wrapped her arms around me.
"Don't worry, we'll find her. She can't stay hidden forever, not even Annabeth can hide from the hunters." She said. Thalia has had her hunters on Annabeth's trail since she went missing.
"I-I just wish I was there. I could h-help her." I choked out.
Just then started a frantic knocking on the door followed by distant growls and banging.
"Thalia, get Lucas and protect him." I told her as I drew my sword and moved towards the door. I might not be able to protect my wife, but there was no way in Tartarus that I would let my son get taken or hurt. Even if that meant that he wouldn't be with me.
Reaching the door I opened it to catch a body as it fell into the doorway. I looked down to almost drop who I saw was my wife. "Annabeth!" I exclaimed.
"Percy...danger!" She pointed outside before growing limp in my arms.
"Thalia get in here!" I called as I set Annabeth on the floor away from the door.
Thalia burst in with Lucas at her knees. She stayed with them as I ran outside to face what ever had taken my wife away from me. I came to face three very large hellhounds.
I dusted the first before they could process me. The second leaped back while the third charged me only to disintegrate as it met a silver arrow. I stole a look back to see Thalia in the doorway with her bow.
I brought my sword down on the third and it howled as it made its return to the underworld. I raced back inside to see Annabeth still unconscious on the floor.
Rocking back and forth, I cradled her in my arms and just sobbed with relief into her hair.
"Percy?" Her voice was weak.
"Annabeth, I'm here." I smiled.
She grinned at me and leaned up to kiss me. "I missed you."
"I missed you too. What happened?" I asked.
"It doesn't matter." She answered. "Where's Lucas?" She asked.
"Mommy!" Lucas called and dived into her arms.
She hugged him and I got a look at her. She was covered in a layer of dirt and dried blood. But more than anything, I was glad that she was with me again and that she was safe.

Sososososososososososososooooo sorry that I didn't update sooner. I've just had terrible writers block and I haven't been able to write stuff for school let alone this.
Anyway for this one shot, I was thinking a part two? Thoughts? Trust me it will be better as I know this one kinda sucked.
