"There is no way she can find out." Percy warned, he was frozen in fear, staring at the scene in front of him. "We will be dead if she does." Never before had a monster, quest, or horrible fate scared him as much as the thought of Annabeth finding out exactly what had happened here today.

Before him stood his children, his nine year old son and seven year old daughter. They stood, frozen in place in the middle of a disaster worse than camp after the giant war. Splattered over the walls, floor, and ceiling was something that Percy had initially thought was blood, but turned out to be a mix of multiple different edible items.

His kids had decided to make popsicles by blending ice, kool-aid, and chocolate. Their logic was that if they mixed the drink and ice together, they wouldn't have to wait for the treats to freeze. Why they added chocolate, Percy didn't know, but he couldn't be mad since it's something he definitely would have done as a kid. Well it was obvious that the idea didn't come from Annabeth's side.

"First of all, I'm disappointed that you didn't use blue kool-aid instead of red-" he started.

"But dad, I don't like blue kool-aid." His son responded.

Percy gasped deeply, a hand over his chest. "How dare you." His daughter voiced his thoughts for him.

"Thank you, Maggie," he praised her. "But we need to clean this up before your mother gets home, in," he looked at his watch, "oh schist, fifteen minutes."

The three of them exchanged frantic glances. "Maggie, go get paper towels," his daughter ran off. "Lucas, go get the cleaner and a trash bag." His son followed his daughter down the hall.

Percy started using the paper towels on the kitchen roll to sop up the puddle around the blender. Why did they have to forget the lid? That's the oldest mistake in the book.

He lifted the blender off the counter and began to wash off the blades and pitcher in the sink and the base off with wet paper towels. Maggie and Lucas returned and started to wash off all the walls and any surfaces they could reach with the towels. Once the blender was clean Percy took the trash bag and roll of towels from Lucas. "Go get the mop from the closet."

When Lucas returned with the mop, Percy exchanges it for the bag and towels and lifted the mop, getting the splatters off the ceiling.

The lock on the front door jiggled. Percy looked at his kids. The kitchen was pretty much clean at this point. "Go, take the bag outside to the trash can then go wash your hands to get the dye off." He told them. "Hurry!"

The two kids ran off down the hall while Percy gathered the cleaning supplies and rushed through the rooms to put them back in the hall closet. He heard muffled curses and keys jingling from the other side of the door as he raced past, not making a sound.

He heard the faucet in the bathroom turn on and soap being pumped. The muffled voices of his kids came from the room.

Percy raced back to the living room, jumping over to land on the couch and opened one of the books Annabeth had sitting on the side table as she opened the door.

"Percy I'm-" she stepped in, stopping herself when she saw Percy on the couch. "Hi...I'm home. What are you doing?"

Percy held up the book. "Reading." He answered.

"Really? You're reading a book on the architecture of Ancient Greece?"

"Annabeth, I am cultured. I enjoy reading sometimes."

"Percy, you're holding the book upside down."

He looked at the book before responding. "Of course, yeah. It's easier to read that way, you know, because of my dyslexia."

Annabeth raises her eyebrow at him before turning to enter the kitchen. Percy tensely waited on the couch.

"Percy, can you come in here please?" She called just as Lucas and Maggie entered the living room.

"Yeah," Percy called back. Lucas and Maggie tried to walk back the way they had come but Percy stopped them. "If I'm going down, you two are coming with me. After all, you did this." He whispered to them, motioning for them to follow as he walked towards the kitchen.

Leaning against the doorway, the two kids coming up behind him, he asked, "Yeah?"

Annabeth turned around to look at him after placing her bag on the kitchen island. "Did you clean in here?" She asked.

"Um-" Percy began but Lucas cut him off.

"Actually, we did Mom." He said.

Percy glared at his son, earning devilish smiles from both kids. "Yeah," Maggie defended. "We know how much you work and we wanted to help."

Annabeth smiled at the two of them. She held out her arms to hug them and they rushed forwards. "Thank you so much." She told them.

Once the kids left the kitchen, Annabeth held out her arms to Percy. He walked up and hugged her back, earning a kiss. "I know you helped them." She smiled at him.

They kissed again, long and slow, arms wrapped around each other. Annabeth finally pulled away. "I should get my stuff ready for tomorrow. Are you making dinner?"

Percy nodded, "yep, your favorite."

Annabeth grinned, picking up her bag and heading for her office. She paused next to Percy to whisper something in his ear, and what she said made his blood run cold. "I know about the kool-aid."

So there is a feel-good one-shot that is long overdue. I've just published a new story on my page, Its a Percy Jackson Fanfic called Our Last Stand. Here is the summary *minor spoiler for Trails of Apollo ahead*:

Years after the end of the giant war, Percy and Annabeth return to Camp Half-Blood. But it's not the happy homecoming they wanted. They return because someone has seen their daughter, Alex, who has been missing for three years. With the source of the news expired and the trail run cold, Percy and Annabeth must follow a prophecy to find their daughter.

Meanwhile at camp, their other two kids are experiencing their parents old home for the first time. Together, with the remaining seven of prophecy, they must defend the camp from impending threats seeking to destroy the legacy of Poseidon and Athena. But could the prophecy prove disastrous for both sides? All Percy knows is they have never been closer to finding Alex, but Annabeth fears they might be two far from everything else.

Disclaimer: most of the characters in this work belong to Uncle Rick. There are a few characters that are mine. Cover art is not mine.

Because the Trials of Apollo is not a finished series yet, all the events take place after Blood of Olympus. Every event from the Trails of Apollo will be ignored (except for Leo's return with Calypso, which is the only spoiler from Trails of Apollo).

If you guys like the one-shots I have been writing, I'm sure you guys will like this story. I'm not expecting for it to become a series so everything will be established in the book. It will be updated weekly, at the same time as this is, so no mystery to when you will know what happens.

I would really appreciate if you guys would just check it out. Thanks guys, love ya!
