Luka's POV

"What are you doing?" Jesse asks me from my doorway. I look up to see him leaning against the doorframe with his arms crossed.

"Uh... looking for clues?" I say uncertainly, holding up a scrapbook.

"So you really believe this whole thing?" Jesse asks. He looks skeptical. I nod.

"Yeah. I do." I say. "It explains a lot." Jesse shrugs.

"Okay, if you say so." Jesse says. He sits down on my bed. "What kind of clues are you looking for?"

"I don't know. A sign that I did, in fact, have a brother." I say, not taking my eyes off the scrapbook.

"What are Scott and the pack up to?" Jesse asks, tilting his head to the side.

"Trying to figure out what Lydia meant by 'Stiles'." I say, shrugging. "I think it might be a nickname."

"What makes you say that?" Jesse asks curiously.

"Because I heard my dad mentioning it once, a long time ago..." I say absentmindedly. "...He was talking about my grandfather. Apparently he went by Stiles."

"What else do you know about your grandfather?" Jesse asks. I shrug.

"Not much. My dad doesn't talk about him." I say.

"So maybe your 'brother' went by Stiles, too?" Jesse asks. I look up at him curiously.

"Makes sense. I mean, why else would it come to Lyds? I mean, she's a Banshee. She wouldn't just randomly come up with Stiles." I say. "It has to have something to do with him. Which brings me to the whole nickname thing." Jesse nods thoughtfully.

"Yeah, you might be on to something there." Jesse says. "So, what, you look for clues and hope you get lucky?"

"That's usually how these things work, yeah." I say. "I just hope we can find him before something bad happens to him."

"Something bad did happen. He got erased." Jesse points out.

"Well, then, before something worse happens." I say. Jesse nods.

"What's Scott planning?" Jesse asks. I shrug.

"I dunno. As far as I know, the rest of the pack is still looking for information on 'stiles'." I say.

"Did you tell Scott about your nickname theory?" Jesse asks. I shake my head.

"Not yet." I say. "I'm sure he'll figure it out, though."

"I wonder what he wants with your dad." Jesse says suddenly, looking towards the door. I frown.

"What?" I ask. Jesse jerks his thumb towards the door.

"Scott's here." Jesse says. "Talking to your dad." I head downstairs, with Jesse behind me.

"It's not a good idea, Scott." Dad says. "Think of another way."

"What if this is the only way?" Scott asks. Dad shakes his head.

"The answer's no, Scott. Think of another way." Dad says.

"But, Sheriff-" Scott starts.

"No, Scott." Dad snaps. "You don't just talk to this guy."

"Sheriff, please. This could be our only hope." Scott says. Dad shakes his head again.

"No. And that's final." Dad says. With that, he walks out of the room.

"What's that all about?" I ask curiously. Scott turns to face me. His face brightens.
