"Xavier, look at mommy." I coo, trying to get a picture of him looking at the camera. He turned six months today and I'm trying to get his pictures. I have them for all the kids.
"Babe, he's not going for it." Santo chuckles.
Xavier watches Santo, who was sitting in the recliner. "Come over here, babe."
Santo does as told, Xavier's eyes follow him.
Once Santo is standing behind me, I start taking pictures. I'm assuming he does something funny because Xavier smiles widely. "Yay!" I cheer, taking more pictures.
"Okay, now give me the camera and you go take your pictures with him." I also get pictures of us with him. Just me and the baby, then Santo and the baby, then both of us with the baby. I did with all the kids.
Santo stops the picture taking after an hour or so. "I have to go to work."
"No." I pout.
"Yeah. I can't stop going, I'll get fired." He chuckles.
"So what? You're gonna quit soon anyway." I shrug.
"I know, but I rather leave on my own terms."
"Fine. Be careful though." I sigh.
"I love you and I will." He pecks my lips.
"I love you too." I smile.
"Bye, Xavier. Daddy loves you." He kisses his forehead.
"Bye, bye daddy. I love you." I wave his hand and speaking in a baby voice.
Santo smiles and pecks my lips one more time.
---
"Xavier." I shake the toy.
He stares at me blankly.
"Okay, okay. I'll stop taking pictures." I groan, putting the camera down. I pick him up and walk to the kitchen, it's his feeding time anyway.
"Mama was takin' to many pictures, huh?" I coo.
I grab his Apple sauce and sit him in the high chair. I sit it on the trey and get the spoon before pulling another chair in front of him.
"Here comes the airplane." I make the spoon 'fly' to him.
He laughs and I feed him a bite.
Once he's done eating, I go to the living room. "Yay! Tummy time." I cheer.
I sit him on the mat and turn on Diego. "Mama has to clean." I speak to myself looking around. There were a few toys scattered in the living room.
I pick up the toys and put them in a pile, I didn't want to leave Xavier down here by himself, especially now that he can roll.
He starts rolling around before eventually sitting himself up. He looks up at me with a curious look. He starts reaching for me and I walk over and pick him up.
"I guess it's nap time." I laugh a little when he lays his head on my shoulder and begins to drift off to sleep.
After laying him in the crib and cutting on the baby monitor, I go to my room, leaving the door of his room open. I grab the other baby monitor and go downstairs. Time to clean.
"Where are we going? To the cleaning cabinet! Where are we going? To the cleaning cabinet!" I sing to myself. I spend all day with four kids, Dora stays in the TV.
I cut the TV off and put on quiet music, that way I can listen to the baby monitor.
---
The doorbell rings after about an hour and I go to answer it with a big smile on my face. Until I see who it is.
