I swung my bag over my shoulder as the bell rang, waiting impatiently for the teacher to let the class go.
"Alright, get out of here." Sir called, annoyed already with the loud shouts and whoops as all 36 of us clammed for the door at once. I squeezed through the crowd and quickly got out of the way, not wanting to get caught in a swarm of more students leaving their own classrooms. I used my height to advantage, managing to shove through hoards of the younger, and much shorter, pupils. I walked out of the building and saw Sam standing away from big groups of students who appeared to be waiting for each other. He was looking into the crowd that I was a part of, trying to catch my eye, however his head turned, looking to someone I knew too well walking over to him.
"Damon you shit." I muttered under my breath, as my brother approached Sam and threw an arm around his shoulder. Sam appeared to be feeling awkward by the way he stood, and I made one last push to escape the sea of kids. I stumbled to the side of the path and made my over to the two of them. As I neared, I heard Damon say something inaudible and Sam laugh slightly. Damon turned when he heard my footsteps and pulled Sam to face me as well.
"Shithead's here!" He called. I shook my head, letting out a chuckle.
"Yes, we know you're here Damon. No need to announce it."
"Jason, if you want to be a smartass, you have to be smart. Otherwise, you're just an ass." He retorted.
"I'd make fun of you, but I don't think you'd understand it."
"Yeah? Well yo mamma so fat, she doesn't need the Internet cuz she's already worldwide!" He almost shouted. I hope to god he realised what he just said.
"Damon." I blinked, my face straight. "We have the same god-damn mum." I heard a laugh from Sam as the realisation spread across Damon's face. His arm dropped from Sam's shoulders, who walked over to me. "You ok?" I ask, as he wraps his arms around my neck. Mine go around his waist as he replies.
"I'm scared."
"Why?" I saw Damon standing awkwardly nearby as Sam pulled back a bit to look at me.
"My Uncle arrived in England this morning. He's coming round this afternoon and I'm meeting him at my house."
"Will you be alone?"
"No. Felicity will be there - "
"So yeah, you're alone." I interrupted. Sam smiled. "I can come with you if you want. I doubt this guy is gonna be like your father. Yeah?" Sam nodded as he nestled his head into my neck. I heard a phone camera go off and my head immediately turned to Damon, but he was looking at someone to our right. I looked and saw Claire with her phone out, smiling.
"Naw. You guys are so adorable." She cooed, making Sam jump back at her words however my arms were still around him. "Any hugs for the straight friend?" She asked, holding out her arms.
"Is this optional?" I groaned.
"Nope," she laughed, popping the 'p' as she threw her arms around both Sam and I. I felt sorry for Sam. I was used to Claire's strange actions throughout the many years of knowing her, whereas Sam had only met her today.
"You'll get used to her." I whispered to him.
"What? And I didn't have to get used to you?" Claire asked, hearing my statement.
"Well... I mean..." I stammered. "Can you let go now?"
"Oh, yeah," she laughed, stepping away. I removed my arms from Sam when I felt a buzz in my pocket. I reached in and picked out my phone.
Damon: Who's this??
I sighed, and gave Damon a glare. He acted as if nothing had happened.
