When we arrive at the railway station, it has already gotten dark. We can barely see anything, but that doesn't matter. All we need to do is get rid of the knife, and we'll be free from this bullshit forever. I take the knife from under my shirt and show it to Sam.

"Where do you want to put it." Sam opens his mouth to say something, but is interrupted by another, very familiar voice.

"I knew it!" I turn around as quick as possible and see McKinley standing a couple of feet away from us. "I knew you were up to something when you brought those two dimwits with you. I walked away, but stayed at the corner of the street, where I waited for the two of you to leave. Then, I followed you here. And now, I can see that you two were involved with the crime. I'm guessing it was the Valentino boy that did it. I saw the blood stains, the cracks in the wall, the bloody razorblade. Your father beat you, didn't he? Yes, he beat you up. He took you to that alley one evening and threatened you and you... stabbed him. Pretty innocent, but running away tells me that you had wanted to do that for a very long time. Now then, that is planned murder. I will have you arrested for this!"

"And what if we resist?" Sam asks.

"Then I will make you go with me." McKinley takes something from a pocket on the inside of his coat. It's a syringe! "This syringe is filled with a substance that is so paralyzing that just a drop of it could be dangerous. I will inject both of you with this if you resist me. Whatever it takes, I will get you back to the station. You will not get away with this."

Suddenly, he runs at Sam. I jump at him and push him to the ground. He punches me and stands up, after which he grabs Sam and pushes him onto the ground. Sam tries to struggle out of his grip, but isn't strong enough. I take a rock from the ground and smack McKinley in the head with it. He groans and releases Sam, after which he turns to me.

"Annoying little shit, aren't you? Well, no matter. I'll have you arrested too!" He stabs at me with the syringe, but I jump to the side and punch him in the face. He stumbles back and drops the syringe. I take it from the ground, run at him and stab him in his neck with the syringe. Then I step back, and watch as McKinley pulls the syringe from his neck and looks at me with sudden fear in his eyes.

"No, no, no. This..." He falls backwards onto the train tracks he was standing in front of. He doesn't seem to be able to move. In the distance I hear a train coming. There is now nothing but fear in McKinley's eyes. "Help... me..." He mumbles.

"I have an idea of how to get rid of the knife." Sam says. He walks up to McKinley and puts the knife in McKinley's hand. "He'll be found with the murder weapon. They'll think he did it." He turns to me. I see the fear and sadness in his eyes. He walks towards me.

"Please..." McKinley cries, as the train comes closer. "I have... a wife... two daughters... twins..." Damnit. Don't make this more difficult.

I turn around, as I feel tears rolling down my cheeks. I grab Sam and keep him close to me, as I hear McKinley begging.

"Please... please..."

Then the train passes. I know what happened. I know what happened without looking. McKinley was crushed by the train. He was dead.

The next morning we wake up from another long night. As we walk downstairs, Claire and Damon are sitting in the living room.

"Come watch this." Claire says. Me and Sam sit down next to her and look at the TV, which is showing the news.

'Yesterday evening, Detective Patrick McKinley was found dead at the railroad station of the town he was investigating. He was holding the murder weapon to a case that he was researching for his TV programme, 'Unsolved Crimes'. It seems that he committed suicide to escape the inevitable discovery of him being the killer.

Earlier that evening his partner in solving crimes, Maxwell Thornes, was arrested for sexually harassing a underage girl. The girl had apparently dropped something, and when she had bent over to pick it up, Thornes had taken his chance. He was put behind bars, with a court case coming up.

This was BBC news, I hope you have a nice day.'

"Oh god we will." Damon says. He stands up and looks at Sam. "This means you're safe for now, eh?" Sam nods, but looks uncomfortable.

"We did have to kill a man for it." He says.

"The man was a creep!" Claire casts. "Just like Thornes. You'd never say his hands would be so strong if you just look at it, but I've felt it." She shivered.

It really does seem too good to be true. Sam is free. Nobody will be looking into the murder anymore, because everyone thinks McKinley did it. We're finally done with this bullshit.

"What about the court case?" Sam asks. Claire smiles and shrugs.

"I guess I will just have to keep lying to the judge, the lawyers, the press and myself. But oh well, it's for a good cause." Jesus woman, at least learn to sugar coat those things.

"You have my support as always." Damon says, smiling.

"Lovely." Claire says, sarcastically.

Sam stands up and walks outside. I follow him.

"What's wrong?"

"He had a family, Jason. A wife and two daughters. And we killed him."

"He attacked us, wanted to inject us with dangerous stuff. It was the right thing to do."

"No it wasn't! He didn't deserve to die! I might be safe now, but I will always carry this guilt with me. You should too."

"I will, trust me. I had nothing but nightmares last night. Constantly I had to relive the moment, like at the end of Doctor Strange. It was horrible."

"You're still making jokes, Jason. Grow a goddamn heart for a second."

"Sam..."

"Leave me alone, please. I need to think."

I walk inside and sigh. Then I join Claire and Damon for breakfast. Sam doesn't come in the entirety of the day. He just sits outside, on the little bench, staring at the sky. This thing might have broken him. And a broken mind is something you can't fix. Never.
