"Are you sure you want to do this?" I asked. He nodded quickly in reply.

"One hundred percent."

"It's your first time, you can back out if you want to." I suggested. He shook his head. "It'll be painful." I warned.

"I know."

"Are you sure you're ready for this?"

"Yep." He assured.

"You don't have to do this-"

"I want this." He interrupted.

"Ready?"

"Definitely."

"Ok then." It went in and he gasped in pain, squeezing the fabric tightly beneath him.

"You ok babe?" He nodded quickly, a wordless reply.

"Just getting used to the pain." He smiled.

"I did warn you."

"I didn't think it would be this bad." He said, gasping in pain again as it went in once more. "Maybe I was wrong."

"The pain will go away after a while."

"It feels kinda weird. This thing inside me."

"You'll get used to it after a bit." He gasped in pain again when the sore area got budged.

"I did say getting your ears pierced would be painful, but of course you didn't listen!" I sighed with a small chuckle. "And kinda dumb." He smiled sweetly in response.

"Yeah but it looks cool."

"You two're cute tagether." Said Ray, the man who had pierced my boyfriends ears.

"Thanks?" I replied.

" 'Member, don't take 'em out fer six weeks, 'ight." Ray reminded us in his strange accent. Sam checked out his new jewellery in the mirror which was nailed to the wall. He had chosen a pair of simple, yet large, black circular studs, and had bought a pair of fake stretchers to wear later on.

"Did Jim say you could get this done?"

"He didn't say I couldn't..." Sam trailed off.

"Sam!" I hissed, knowing Jim would go crazy.

"What? It's my money to spend, plus he can't exactly change the past, can he?"

"No but he'll certainly make sure I don't have a future."

"You'll be fine. I'll just tell him it was my idea and you tried to stop me."

"And he'll believe that?" I asked as we reached the counter. Sam shrugged as he handed over his money, and we left.

"He'll have to."

"No, he'll say he does and then hunt me down to end my life."

"Excuse me, aren't you supposed to be in school?" A man asks, in some sort of uniform, not quite police but something like that. Sam looks to me wide eyed and I stare at the man with a blank face. He begins to walk over, approaching like he has authority.

"Bitte?" I ask, pretending to be confused and German. I knew my German was terrible but I was praying it was good enough for right now. The man raises an eyebrow, and nods when he realises I'm not English. Which I am, utterly and completely, to the point where foreign languages can't be comprehended in my brain.
