After The Nightfall ...

•Chapter 4•

"We were having a camp fire right at this spot.." I started to say but was stopped by some weird sounds.

I stood up. "You gotta get out of here. Now. " Mason said.

"No. I have to. "

"Have to what?"

"Stay. I'm the only one that survived 10 years ago. "I said ready for whoever it was hiding behind the dark forest trees.

"Kylie. We gotta go!" he pulled my arm back but I couldn't budge.

"Go yourself. I'm staying! I can't stand another 10 years of terrible nightmares. "I said taking a step forward.

"Kylie. Please!" he said looking angry. Why isn't he afraid?

The noises from behind the bushes started getting closer and small howls erupt the air.

Then it was all silence.

"Who is it?" I called out but I felt nothing but something hit my head.

I blacked out but not after I heard. "It's ok. She's not gonna hurt you. "

And then the darkness took me..

I woke up to murmurs in the room. I rubbed my eyes and sat up. What am I doing here? I remember I was in the forest. What ended me here? And why am I not dead?

My grandma approached me frowning. "Oh darling. I thought I lost you. What were you doing deep in the forest last night?" she asked.

Oh no. I guess I'm in trouble.

"I was.. Just taking a walk then ended up there." I lied.

"Oh thank god the little boy Mason found you. You could've died while hitting your head on a rock and we wouldn't have known. "She said crossing her arms over her chest.

"I'm sorry grandma. I won't do it again. "

"Oh yes. I hope you'll learn your lesson after your grounding is over. "

"I'm grounded!? But grandma..its friday. "

"I don't care ! We're living in a dangerous place! "she said and walked away. Great. Just great.

"Get ready. You don't wanna be late on your first day of your Senior year would you?" Alex said. I huffed and got up.

"I'll be waiting in my car. " She said. I nodded and she walked away.

After getting ready and putting on my pair of black skinny jeans and white tank top, I wore my leather jacket and my Vans . I then let down my hair and flipped it to one side.

I applied eyeliner and a bit of mascara with a bit of lip gloss. I held my bag and stuffed my key , some money, my phone and earphone in side of it. Along with some make-up and books.

I went down stairs and headed directly to the front door. "Remember you're grounded. " grandma called out.

"Yea but I have to get a book from the library on my way back. " I said.

She muttered a 'fine and take care ' and then I walked out before she changes her mind.

"I gotta skip out tonight if there's a party. "I said as soon as Alex drove off to school.

"Yea. I'd be on it. And you don't have to worry. You're grandma lets you go to my place even when you're grounded. Just tell her you're with me. "She said pulling in the school's parking lot. I smiled at her and she just winked.

We were the cool girls at school. No one but just me and Alex. I never let those sluts come around me for being 'best friends'. Besides, we're the funny cool popular girls not the slutty cheerleaders popular girls.
