A Sweet Stranger

I pulled the covers off me and sat up. When I got up all of my senses felt clouded and I was suddenly really dizzy, I held my head in my hands to stop the world from spinning. This happened every time I had this dream. After I finally felt normal again I got out of bed wearing only my black and white panties and a black tank top. I walked to the bathroom and stopped when I reached the closed door and heard the sound of water pounding on the tub. My roommate Angie must've been in there taking a shower. I sighed knowing I was going to have to wait so I walked to the kitchen and got myself a bowl of cereal. Ten minutes later my dirty blond friend came walking into the kitchen wearing a pair of blue skinny jeans and a Fall Out Boy t-shirt. Fall Out Boy was the most popular band right now, if you haven't heard of them then you had to have been living under a rock for the last two years. I finished my cereal and headed back down the hall and into the bathroom where I stood in front of the mirror as my reflection stared back at me. I turned on the sink and splashed some cold water on my face to wake myself up. I grabbed my blue hairbrush and brushed through my hair until all the knots were gone. I pulled my red auburn hair up into a sleek ponytail and finished my morning routine in the bathroom. Walking back to my room I realized that I had forgotten my jewelry box in Angie's room. I stopped by her room and walked into the light pink room. I walked over to the corner of her room where her desk was and grabbed my angel jewelry box that my mother had given me. My room was nowhere near this bright and colorful. Dark purple walls, a blue bed, band posters posted on all the walls, a dark blue chair with a black desk that was covered in papers. Once I grabbed my jewelry box I walked back to my room and shut the door behind me. I set my jewelry box down on my nightstand and walked over to the closet to find something to wear. I found my favorite pair of black skinny jeans and my favorite baby blue tank top. I grabbed my black dream catcher over shirt and put it on over my tank top. I grabbed my black and white converses and put them on quickly. It was Saturday so I didn't have work. I threw on my black leather jacket and grabbed my phone, my keys, and my wallet. I opened the garage door to see my baby. A black 2003 Road King Harley Davidson that my grandfather had given me before he died. I climbed onto my shiny black bike. When I turned it on it loudly roared to life, echoing in the small garage. I pulled out slowly before speeding off down the road knowing that until I got to the stop light down the road I wouldn't have to worry about being stopped by a cop. When I finally saw the light up ahead I slowed down to the speed limit and kept going since the light was green. I turned right onto the main road to town. After seven minutes of driving I pulled into the parking lot of Walmart. I was in charge of picking up the groceries and anything else we needed. I pulled the bike into a parking space and turned off the ignition before I hopped off. I walked into the store and started quickly getting the items we needed. I was almost done when I realized that I had forgotten to get coffee. I walked back to the coffee aisle and realized they had moved my coffee to the top shelf. Now I was a short girl only about five foot four, so this was going to be difficult. I stood up on my tip toes and reached for the container since I don't like asking people for help. As I was trying hard to get it I saw someone's arm in front of me grab one of the coffee containers and bring it back down by me. I turned around to see who had helped me. A dark and beautiful stranger stood in front of me while holding the coffee I had just been trying to grab seconds ago. He had short, spiky black hair that went down to his neck in the back, gorgeous green eyes, and a smile that killed. He was wearing a pair of faded skinny jeans and a white t-shirt that said 'Bite Me' in big black letters on it. I slowly took the coffee from him who was holding it out to me. "Thank you." He smiled at me like he was amused. "You're welcome." Despite his American looks he had a slight accent that sounded foreign. 'Wow' was all I could think. I felt my cheeks blush slightly as I held the coffee to my chest. Why am I acting so girly? I shook my head and looked back up at him. He was a few inches taller than me which only made him look hotter. "I'm Kat." I smiled at him and held out my hand. "I'm Daniel it's nice to meet you." We awkwardly shook hands and I thanked him for getting the coffee for me. He shook his head like it was no problem. He handed me a small folded piece of paper before walking off, not waiting any time for me to open it and read it. When I opened it I saw a little black raven feather design in the corner and note that said 'call or text me any time, even when you think no one will understand what you're going through. I may be able to help you.' At the bottom of the page there was a phone number. I shook of the feelings and slipped the piece of paper into my jean pocket. I went and paid for the groceries before walking back out to my bike and putting them in the saddle bag on my bike. As I rode home I thought over what had happened in the store with Daniel and about the piece of paper he had given me. I tried to forget about it as I was putting everything away. Angie had already left for work while I had a whole day of nothing since I had the day off work. I pulled out my phone and punched in the number Daniel had given me. I sent him a text saying who I was and asking what was up. He responded almost immediately saying hey back. He then sent another saying 'I'm just sitting at home bored. What about you?' I went to my room before responding to his text, 'I'm just hanging in my room.' Today was going to be a boring day, or so I thought. Daniel texted me asking if I wanted to hang out with him at the mall. i thought it over in my head, i had just met him and he was asking me to come see him like we had been friends for years, but since I had nothing better to do I agreed. About an hour later I found myself in front of the downtown shopping mall waiting for him to show up. There was a small group of kids about my age on the other side of the doors talking. They looked over at me and started laughing, I ignored them as best I could while I was lost in thought I saw a tall dark shadow in front of me. When I looked up I saw the handsome face of the boy who had become my new friend. When me and him walked inside the mall the group stopped looking and stared at us, as if they were shocked that someone as hot as him would be hanging out with someone like me. I smiled and kept walking beside him. "So where to?" he asked me smiling bigger than I was. "How about Hot Topic?" I ask since it was my favorite store and I loved being there. "Alright." He said and started walking in the direction of the store. I followed him happily until we found ourselves outside the small store. We walked inside and started looking around at all the cool stuff they had inside. I stopped to look at the jewelry first. I scanned over every necklace and bracelet but stopped when I saw a little blue crystal necklace. The wings were carved to a short point and the crystal shimmered like the ocean water in the lighting. But what was weird was that there only seemed to be one of them. I looked to see if I could afford it and put it back down sadly. It was more than I had on me and I don't get paid till next Friday. I moved on to looking at the clothes but nothing really appealed to me after the necklace. After about a half an hour we left and walked around other stores to see what they were selling. By the time I looked at my phone it was already four. "Oh wow it's so late!" We left the mall and started walking toward my motorcycle. "Nice bike." He said when we reached it. He laid a little silver box on the seat of my bike before walking off like last time, not waiting for me to open it. I saw him walk over to a black Jeep Wrangler, climb in and drive off. I quickly drove home so I could start making dinner before Angie got home from work. The next couple hours went by like a dream. I wasn't paying much attention to anything after I got home. I went to bed early that night because everything felt off and weird. The next morning I woke up to see the little silver box Daniel had given me sitting on my bedside table. I opened it to see the little blue crystal butterfly i had been staring at in hot topic sitting neatly in it. I put it around my neck and smiled, it was so beautiful. I yawned and curled back up into bed since I was still tired.
