Dangerous Bliss

"What about that place?" i asked pointing to the computer screen at the public library. It was a cute little cabin in the forest about a hundred miles from here in the middle of nowhere. The cabin has three bedrooms, one big bathroom, a large living room, a decent sized kitchen with a dining room attached to it, and just a few miles away is a gorgeous lake with a waterfall. To make it even better it was only $1,500 a month, which is great for a place that size. We researched the place a little more and found out that the outside of the house would need to be fixed up a little bit but other than that it was perfect. Daniel went outside and called the landowner to talk about moving into the property. While he was on the phone Raphael and I talked about how great it would be if we did move there and how amazing it would be to go swimming in the lake. Twenty minutes later Daniel came back inside with a smile on his face. "We got the place! We can move in this weekend." I jumped up out of my seat and hugged the both of them smiling. When Angie found out we were moving out she was sad but I told her i had to get away for personal reasons and she understood. On our way back home we dropped Daniel off at his house so he could bring over his truck and his stuff while me and Raphael rode in the new jeep he bought just a couple of days ago. Daniel met us at the house and we started loading up what was packed in the back of the jeep and the backseat of the truck. Using their super strength they loaded my motorcycle up into the bed of the truck and secured it down. We filled up the jeep with most of our stuff and decided I would ride in the truck with Daniel. Daniel decided to stay the night until we move to make it easier to finish packing. Once all of our stuff was packed I sat down on the couch in the living room wearing a pair of black and white PJ pants and a dark grey tank top. Raphael on my left was wearing a pair of shorts and a blue t-shirt while Daniel sat on my right wearing a pair of black sweats and a white t-shirt. "Do you think they will come after us?" I asked breaking the comfortable silence. They seemed a little surprised by my question. Raphael placed a comforting hand on my shoulder. "They will try but at least for a while they won't be able to find us." I stayed silent for a moment before asking another question. "So we will have to move again?" Raphael nodded quietly before adding, "Only if they find us." I couldn't bare the thought of losing either of them so running was our only option. Daniel slept on the couch and would sleep there tomorrow night as well then we would leave Saturday morning. When i woke up the next morning i couldn't move. My eyes fluttered open frantically and if I could have moved I would have jumped ten feet into the air. At the end of my bed stood a demon with pitch black eyes, three inch horns, black claws that extended from his fingers, and black leathery wings behind him. I went to scream but no sound came out. I tried again only to fail once more. "There's no use trying. I used magic to keep you still and quiet until I can get a hold of Lucifer and Michael." When I looked around my room i saw that the window in my room was still closed and locked meaning he got in somewhere else. He must have seen me look around because he commented. "I came in through the dining room window, it was unlocked." He said this while looking down at his phone texting someone. I tried to move again but again was met with nothing. "I don't understand why they want you so bad. Your are a pathetic and useless human. Besides no matter what you choose it won't last forever. Eventually you will die, someone else will take your place, and Heaven and Hell will never get along." He went to say something else but was cut off when my bedroom door went flying open and came off the hinges. Daniel stood in the doorway with his tail and horns in full view, black claws extending from his fingers, and instead of his beautiful emerald green eyes they were solid black like the demon in front of me. He stood in the doorway wearing nothing but the pair of black sweats from last night, and if I hadn't been so scared I would have been blushing from the sight of his amazingly toned body. Behind him stood Raphael wearing the same thing he was last night, his golden wings outstretched behind him, and his normally grey blue eyes looked silver now. In the blink of an eye Daniel had the man pinned by his throat again my bedroom wall and Raphael had a dagger placed against his chest aimed over his heart. Daniel seemed to ask him something in a language I didn't understand and when he responded Raphael shoved the dagger into his heart. The demon burst into a cloud of dust before disappearing. Both Raphael and Daniel's eyes had gone back to normal and Daniels claws and horns disappeared, but his tail remained and so did Raphael's wings. Once the demon had become a cloud of dust I could move and speak again. I sat up in my bed quietly while trying to process what had just happened. Daniel walked over to me and sat down beside me on the bed. He engulfed me into a hug, wrapping his arms protectively around me with his chin resting on my head. "Are you alright Kat?" He asked softly into my hair. I nodded quietly and felt the bed sink down beside me. Raphael was now sitting on the other side of me rubbing a soothing hand up and down my back to calm me down. His golden wings had a soft glow to them that was a nice distraction. I brought myself back to reality and out of my thoughts as I looked up at Daniel and smiles seeing his beautiful green eyes looking back at my own with worry. "I'm ok I promise." I relaxed against Daniels warm chest. A blush made it's way across my cheeks as I realized that he was still shirtless and I was pressed i against his bare chest. Both of them stayed quiet as i leaned against Daniels chest and Raphael soothingly rubbed my back. As my body and mind finally calmed down fully I started to fall asleep. I didn't even try to fight the sleepiness so I just let the darkness of sleep take over.
