MIN YOONGI
The drive was long, felt longer then the hour Dr. Kang said it would be. He had no cell phone, no music, no nothing. All he could do was watch the trees go by. It wasn't till those trees cleared away and he saw an old brick building in the distance that he the trip was coming to an end.
Once the van Yoongi had been traveling in was right outside the building, it seemed like it could fall apart at any given moment. He shuddered as he got out, feeling nauseous again. He watched as Dr. Kang had removed his briefcase and brushed his crisp lab coat off of invisible dust. He then turned to Yoongi, an almost wicked smile on his slim face.
"Welcome to Gonjiam." He motioned for Yoongi to follow him up the fall apart cement stairs. A lady had come out, tall and fair. Her dark hair was pulled back into a lose bun at her neck and she smiled, one of those smiles that you can see in her eyes.
"Hello, Dr. Kang. Mr. Min Yoongi, welcome!" Yoongi had never seen someone so happy to greet a 'mentally crazed' person. For god sakes this was a house for disturbed teens, not a daycare,"I'm Dr. Ahn Jihye, I'm the one who will be monitoring your treatments and recovery."
"Great." Yoongi said sarcastically and rolled his eyes. He let them wander away from the two doctors as they talked about something. He looked at the windows, broads covering them and the paint on the sills were chipping off. Other then the house being in a clearing, there were woods that surrounded the perimeter, perfect for hiding if he escaped somehow.
"Okay, well come on in Min Yoongi, there is lots to do for your first day."
Yoongi started to question himself and the woman in front of him as he followed. Dr. Kang following way too close for his liking but he tolerated it as best he could. He wondered if he could actually get some answers about why he was suddenly placed he so quickly? Where was his mom? How long will he be here? Why didn't he get a choice on whether to just take a medication at home when this 'schizophrenia' isn't at its peak?
Gonjiam wasn't like what it looked like on the outside then the inside. The interior was surprisingly painted in warm colors, paintings and drawings hung up on the walls. Modernized furniture littered the rooms as they passed. Unlike the outside, everything looked like a normal house, fresh and clean and humble.
"Where are the other boys?" Dr. Kang suddenly said, pulling Yoongi's attention to focus on the two doctors.
"Right now.." Dr. Ahn checked the silver watch that was wrapped around her wrist,"They should be coming to lunch, Miss Soobin is probably getting the table set."
"They eat at one table?" Yoongu questioned.
"Why yes." She glanced over her shoulder and smiled,"Here at Gonjiam, one of the many therapies we offer is socialization. It helps the mind to soothe itself when a conversation is held as well as let the person feel different emotions."
"And everyone gets along..?" Yoongi doubted that of there were more people here with 'illnesses' like him, they must not be having a friendly tea party at the dinner table everyday.
"Some yes, others not so much, but we don't separate them. We always keep them together because separating a patient can make them feel... alone. We can't put someone in isolation." The woman suddenly stopped in front of a doorway,"You should eat some lunch too, now that I think about it. And then I will show you around, sound good?"
"But I'm not hungry." Yoongi insisted,"And I really don't want to talk to anyone."
"Now now Yoongi,"Dr. Kang had placed a hand on his shoulder,"This is part of the treatment, and you need this, make some friends, eat a little food."
There he goes again, making Yoongi look like he needs all the help he can get. Yoongi didn't understand what all this even mattered, yeah he saw a half melted man chasing him through the school but that does mean he's schizo.. right? And the part where Dr. Kang insisted that Hoseok wasn't real, really hurt a piece of him. Hoseok has always been there for him, even when he was little. Hoseok is what got him through his mother and father's divorce, and all those times when his mother wasn't even present.
"Whatever." Yoongi brushed Dr. Kang's hand off. He walked through the doorway that Dr. Ahn had motioned into and saw a slim younger looking woman inside, he had long blonde curls that cascaded over her shoulders and bright caramel colored eyes.
"This is Soobin, she's my assistant." Dr. Ahn's voice had returned the room as well,"Are the boys coming?"
"Ne, they should be--" Just as the woman was about to finish, a door on the opposite wall flung open.
Yoongi's eyes traveled to the boy that walked in, hands in his jeans. Yoongi couldn't take his eyes off the color of his hair. A bright orange that actually seemed to clash against the boys white shirt.
The boy noticed Yoongi's stare, a curious glint in his eyes as he realized he had never seen Yoongi before. He changed directions, starting to approach Yoongi. Once he was standing in front of him, his face had turned into an arrogant unwavering smirk and threw out a hand.
"Park Jimin."
Yoongi seemed to act unconsciously, taking the boys hand in his to find it a soothingly warm. The first thing that entered his mind after their hands had intertwined was:
'God does this boy have small ass hands.'
